Very disappointed with the quality of the products at Kiev Deli.
We have been customers of this store for a long time, but our recent experiences have been extremely disappointing.
We purchased expensive sturgeon that was so salty it was impossible to eat. We also bought herring that had clearly been damaged by freezing and had a poor texture.
Most recently, we purchased ice cream that looked and tasted as if it had melted and then been refrozen. The texture was icy and unpleasant, as shown in the attached photos.
These products are not inexpensive, and customers should be able to trust the quality of the food they purchase.
I am sharing our personal experience to help other customers. Please check the quality of products carefully before buying. We hope the management will improve quality control and storage conditions

This deli has a wide selection of Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian foods, deserts and beer and wine. The pierogis and deserts are very good.
Very clean and friendly service. I stop here whenever I’m in the area. Plenty of parking.

Charming little European shop with a cozy feel. The selection isn’t huge, but there’s just enough variety to find some good items. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but that’s understandable given the cost of importing these products.
What really stood out was the service—the staff member was kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. He even let us sample the kielbasa before buying, which made the experience feel more personal and ensured we picked exactly what we wanted. Overall, a nice spot for specialty items!

We always spend around $70 to hundred dollars there, and been given a free item just because.
We always get an ice cream there as well the best ice cream in Sarasota 😍

Oh my heavens, I am not exaggerating, one of the authentic and best sandwich I’ve had in a long time made by Miss Olga. I just met her and her husband Mark and I gotta tell you hands-down really good sandwich really good place friendly for Eastern Europe food and authentic chocolate I got German chocolate for my Irish wife .

Very disappointing experience. I bought smoked mackerel here and when I opened it at home the fish was falling apart and had a very unpleasant smell. It was supposed to be cold smoked but it did not look or taste right at all. I understand that sometimes there is no expiration date listed on fish but this one was clearly not fresh and honestly inedible. There were almost no price tags. No clear prices on the sausages and no clear prices on most of the fish. Only one small tag somewhere in the corner. It makes shopping confusing and uncomfortable. The refrigerators were always fogged up and it was hard to see what was inside. You can barely see the frozen items or what you are choosing. The employee who helped me was rude and unfriendly. The service felt careless and unpleasant. Overall a very bad experience and I will not be coming back.
