Good food. Second time there and I like the Frida lounge more than the sit down restaurant personally. Drinks are tiny. You pay $15 for a Marg and it is half ice and very small, so not great value there. Food was good. We had the fajitas. In the Frida lounge, you can get tacos which are really phenomenal as well. Didn't see them on the menu in the restaurant. Overall, good spot. First time better than the second, but second time still good. Skimpy on the drinks, but maybe their happy hour is better deal. Haven't checked that out yet.

the place is nice and clean, waiter was very friendly but prices were way too high . we were told we were at happy hour so when they brought a check for 3 very small margaritas , i was shocked at $45.!

New favorite Mexican restaurant - the burrito bowl lunch dish with crispy short ribs is amazing. The mesquite chicken in another bowl was perfectly cooked and very tender. We love the guacamole - so fresh and flavorful! At lunch, the ambience is relaxed and service is perfectly attentive. We highly recommend.

Sadly, I did not get any pictures of this beautifully plated, delicious food! We were at Frida's (their attached little bar) for happy hour, but we ordered some dishes from Kolucan as well. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious. We tried all of the tacos, the elote, cheese dip(the one with chorizo), taquitos, and a few other things. The elote was AMAZING. The happy hour, $6 Margs, were pretty good, too! ? There is outdoor seating at Kolucan, and it seems to be a nicer restaurant for Mexican cuisine. I can't wait to go back next Friday with more friends! Also, shout out to the servers and bartenders. 5 stars all the way guys! (And gals) ? ????

What an awesome date night! My husband set a reservation for us at 6:30 for the patio, we arrived a little early and were sat immediately. The staff is super friendly with great service! The food was phenomenal and by far the BEST cucumber jalapeño margarita I’ve ever had. I’m picky on margs but I could have drank these all night. Can’t wait to go back!!!

My second meal here this week, my first brunch. Avocado toast and eggs were delicious and perfectly prepared. Waitstaff here is very pleasant and attentive. Outside seating is very nice (only noise is from occasional noisy truck), and it's a consistent gem thus far. Not crowded yet at lunch or brunch!

The feathered serpent God, Kolucan, has made his presence known on the U.S. side of the gulf of Mexico, in Sarasota! This dining experience will absolutely make you second guess all other Mexican restaurants in Sarasota County, as the atmosphere of fine art, excellent service and next level cuisine, will leave you wanting more.Do not miss this stop, if you're wanting an experience in Mexican cuisine!

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Kolucan Saturday evening. Our chips with a variety of sauces were excellent. My husband thoroughly enjoyed a shrimp dish, and I had the house salad with sides of black beans and rice. The salad was exceptional. I recommended it to our family, and I hope to be a regular there. It's that good.

This place was absolutely marvelous. The food was incredible. We had the chicharron and guacamole appetizer. Delicious. The Sonora dish for 2 indeed a lot of food. I couldn't have been more pleased. The drinks were on point. I highly recommend the Tamarindo margarita, they were my favorite. And for a Mexican foodie, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the salsa macha. Fire! The atmosphere was also nice. Staff was excellent. The chef and owner spent some time with us. Great place for all occasions. And Finally, a Mexican restaurant that actually plays Mexican music!Parking: Spacious lot.Kid-friendliness: My friend's son who is 13 came along. He too enjoyed the food and loved that they offered Jarritos as beverages.

Not your typical Mexican restaurant where they bring you chips and salsa. Food is very expensive so I was expecting something fabulous but was disappointed. The chicken fajitas had almost no taste or spice. The chicken enchiladas had the smallest serving I’ve ever seen. We ate outside on the patio which had a nice atmosphere.

We ate at this lovely new high-end Mexican eatery in Gulf Gate and were delighted beyond measure. Gina, our server, was super responsive and helpful. We are 100% plant-based, so she worked with us and helped us choose dishes that worked. The presentation was lovely and the flavors has our tastebuds singing. Well done!!
