My husband and I were visiting Sarasota for Valentine’s weekend and, unfortunately, didn’t have a reservation anywhere. On Valentine’s night, we decided to try Libby’s and walked in knowing it was a long shot. The restaurant was completely packed.
At first, the hosts seemed understandably hesitant when we mentioned we didn’t have a reservation. It was a very busy night. But the manager, Francisco, overheard the conversation and immediately stepped in, and confidently said he could seat us. Not only did he find us a table right away, but he also helped move things along for other guests who were waiting.
Our server was kind and attentive despite how busy the evening was. We started with the sweet pull-apart bread and truffle butter that was absolutely delicious. It was warm, soft, buttery, and perfectly tearable. Honestly, it set the tone for the meal.
We both ordered the Dr. Pepper ribs with fries. The ribs were outstanding! Perfect balance of tender meat and a flavorful sauce. The fries were incredibly thin and crunchy. I rarely eat fries, but these were impossible to resist. I finished every last one.
The ribs looked so good I forgot to take pictures.
We ended the night with bread pudding and a Dragonless Mojito mocktail, which was refreshing and beautifully made. Even with a full house, everything felt smooth and well managed.
What truly stood out was Francisco. A manager who is present, attentive, willing to support his team, and who personally checks in with guests makes a huge difference. As we were leaving, he approached us to ask about our experience. That level of care and leadership is rare, especially on one of the busiest nights of the year. He genuinely helped make our Valentine’s date night feel special.
Thank you, Libby’s, for turning what could have been a fail into a memorable evening. We’ll absolutely return next time we’re in Sarasota.

Delicious food. Great service well worth the money.
The atmosphere was wonderful. I could not believe that we were able to snag a table on a busy Saturday night in Sarasota. The service was fantastic. Kai provided helpful suggestions including my incredible main Yellow Fish piccata style. Yum. The best part of the meal was the tuna starter. I will dream of that tuna for the rest of my life. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We had an absolutely wonderful brunch experience. Our server, Derek, was truly the best—attentive, friendly, and professional. He made sure everything was perfect and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and well taken care of.
The customer service, the attention to detail, and the overall atmosphere were exceptional. A special thank you as well to Francisco, the manager, whose leadership clearly shows in the quality and warmth of this beautiful place.
