Nice ambience. Food was very uneven. Salads had little flavor. The feta in the Mediterranean salad was tasteless. Veal scallopine was very tender with a nice sauce. Chocolate cake with almond flour , and profiteroles, were both just average. I would return to this restaurant to try some of the pasta dishes, which we did not on this visit. Service was excellent and very attentive.
We hadn't been to Mediterraneo by ourselves in quite a while. We were enjoying our evening very much when the people seated next to us started to talk about Covid and how everyone in their family had it, etc. At that point, I just wanted to finish our food and leave. Note to diners: Covid isn't a good topic of discussion in a restaurant!
Best Italian in Sarasota, hands down! Been the best for 20+ years. Great pizza, great Veal Parm and amazing service. Always makes me, my family, and my guests feel like we are part of their family.
