Michael's On East is a well-known restaurant and one of the best places to dine in Sarasota. The restaurant provides a special dining experience with attentive service and expert wine pairings. Guests are greeted warmly and seated in a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of options, including the surf & turf dream, a delicious combination of porterhouse and Chilean sea bass. The monthly Epicurean Menu-Taste of New Orleans is very popular, showcasing tasty food and drinks, with favorites like good gumbo and best short ribs. The wine list is large and offers great choices at fair prices, with half-price wine on Thursday evenings. Live music from the bar pianist adds to the lively mood. The chef is outstanding, and the staff is caring, attentive, and knowledgeable, making every visit special. The desserts are fabulous, with favorites like the double chocolate bourbon bread pudding and the Royal Street pecan praline cheesecake. Guests often enjoy several appetizers, and everyone's entrees are delicious. Lobster Pot Friday and the Surf and Surf are outstanding, with lobster cooked perfectly and tasty sides. Oysters are nicely done, and shrimp and grits are very good. Free parking and valet services add convenience to this fine dining spot. Recently, the restaurant was renovated with a new, art deco style, opening up the bar area and adding artwork that makes the atmosphere even more special. The friendly staff, like Troy, Freddy, Lars, and Rick, provide excellent service, whether during dinner, happy hour, or celebrations. The happy hour was highly praised for its great atmosphere and fantastic piano music. Celebrating birthdays at Michael's On East remains a wonderful tradition, and many guests look forward to returning soon for more delicious meals and memorable experiences.
