Paisano's Italian Bakery

At Paisano's 6/23/2026 .
The quality of the food has dropped considerably since I started going there in 2014 .
Lasagna was overcooked and soft (not al dente).
Sfogliatella (lobster tail) Italian dessert overcooked . The bottom of the pastry was dark brown .

This place is absolutely amazing. We stopped for bakery items. The fruit tart OMG! It was so good we also purchased meatballs, and marina to tske home for dinner. They were also amazing

Stopped in the other day and was blown away. I tried their lobster tail pastry, one of their best sellers, and it was unlike anything I’ve had before. The flaky crust filled with vanilla custard and cannoli cream was absolutely phenomenal. I’m usually not even a big vanilla custard fan, but this was incredible.

I also picked up a sfogliatella, a traditional pastry from Naples, Italy. Ever since visiting Naples, I’ve had a hard time finding one that compares, but this tasted just like the ones I had there and really hit the spot.

Of course, I had to try a cannoli as well. They fill the shells to order, which is always a great sign of an authentic cannoli, and it did not disappoint. Fresh, crisp, and delicious.

The selection here is unbelievable, and honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong with anything you choose. I didn’t get a chance to try anything else this visit, but I’ll definitely be back to sample more pastries and the food menu. They also have a few tables set up inside if you’d like to sit and enjoy your treats.

On top of all that, everyone was extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!

The butter cookies and rainbow cookies were delcious, however, the piniolis were raw in the middle. Not just chewy from the marzipan, but literally raw in the middle and with them being $3 a pop definitely over priced for what it is!

Little pricy, but the deserts here are well worth it. Super friendly staff, so many options.

We love everything at Paisano's. The pizza slices are good to pair with the sweets.

Updated June 2026: The Better than Twix are my favorite and I picked up a peach pie on this vacation to try tonight. We've had the pizza slices several times this trip and their sauce is excellent! The staff are always friendly, too.

We stop here each time we visit Sarasota and always bring something back home. They work hard to make it a good place.

My wife and I stopped in for our anniversary and this reminded us of the Italian bakeries we loved in Detroit. We got a few cookies and a cannoli cake and it was amazing!

Stopped in for the first time yesterday and everything we got was delicious!!! My husband and I got a slice of the cannoli cake to share and some Italian cookies. Looking forward to returning in the future!

Have heard about this bakery and have been wanting to go to check it out as we are also from Rhode Island and I love New England style pizza. It was my father’s birthday so we took him to get some goodies. Sadly, the service left a poor taste in our mouths as the woman who was helping us behind the counter just seemed uninterested and kept rushing us to make our decision(s). My father snapped back stating this was our first time at the bakery and if we could have a moment to look at the product and she snapped back saying she just didn’t want us changing our mind once we choose something and then huffed her way to the back room. The pizza strips and other items we purchased were great and the pizza strip brought me back to days at the Y summer camp in Warwick but the service just left us uninterested to go back.

The best place in Sarasota to get bakery items.
