We love this place! Have been several times and also order takeout. Food is wonderful and cozy atmosphere, too. We had Bridget as a server the last 2 times and she is the best!
It’s just…not great.
Sofia Loren dish was delicious, beautiful restaurant and our server William was very polite and attentive
We eat here once a wek or at least try to. Before we would eat in the dinning room but decided to eat at the bar one day. What a treat. You get to watch the beautiful pizzas being made and can actually smell them as they cook in under 5 mins. I try very hard to order something different since we like their menu and food but I get stuck at the pizza. Just tell them what you want on it. They will do it. My husband doesn't eat cheese and they have never put it on his pizza. That is knowing your customer. Thanks Primo.
Was vising Sarasota (from NJ) and found this place nearby for lunch with my family. We were very hungry and thankfully the food was delicious. The man that greeted us (maybe manager?) was polite and friendly. We asked for outdoor seating and it was granted. We also asked if our small dog could join us outside and our wish was granted. The server was attentive and amplified our experience to the maximum. Highly recommend this place.
The Sicilian menu offerings different than your typical Italian. Had a dish labeled Sofia Loren - crabmeat, asparagus, sundried tomates in a cream sauce over capellini ( the sundried tomatoes were a bit too chewy) ….. but I finished my entire entree and I rarely do that. Our server, William, was excellent - very personable.
We found this jewel while looking around for a restaurant. And we are so happy! Excellent food! A truly Italian place not a wanna be. Tired of chain restaurants with lot of msg and reduced menu, Primo is authentic and hand made style. Since now, we are going here to eat, plenty of menu options. I am glad they serve authentic antipasto. I attach pic of it and hand made cakes. By the way, the place is very nice also. Prices are much better. We ate more that in any of the 3 main chain restaurants around and we spent less.
The waitress was horrible she took forever to get back …kept reaching over in front of me to serve food or take stuff off the table…’. She kept dropping stuff on the floor what a klutz ….smhThe food wasn’t all that great I expected The food to taste excellent but I was disappointedand the manager or the owner did not greet us but greet everybody else ??♀️ But acknowledge we were thereNever going back there again
We found this little unassuming restaurant in Sarasota. The minute you walk in you feel like family. We ended up eating there a few times during our stay. Everything from drinks to dessert was wonderful. Definitely our go to when we are in the area.
Been here many times over the years and it's a hit or miss. Yes the covid did do some damage to the restaurant business (s) and all but this goes before that. The food is nothing special, the service is hit and miss, the atmosphere is nice but I rather visit another Italian restaurant, that starts with a "C".. I know and understand there are many types of Italian style food as there are different types of dialects of the Italian language. This isn't great Italian food.. some times the food come out over cooked, under cooked, too much oil, dry, over flavored, under flavored, he'll, one time there was a half cooked (cold) chicken on too of my pasta. I'm not sure who is the cook(s) but they definitely need to learn how to cook and use measurements. Very inconsistent. And the service isn't always the best either. Years ago (maybe 5) or so this place was much better, but recently blah, nothing special. Been seeing restaurants closing all over town, wouldn't be surprised to see this place go too.

Staff is incredibly friendly, the food is great and priced fairly. In an age where customer service is a rarity, this place does a great job. The meatballs are amazing!! 10/10, would visit again.
Very nice place! Looks very authentic and the service is top notch. The servers were very helpful and our order came out relatively quick given they were packed. The baked ziti wasn’t as yummy as I was hoping and that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars but they had a lot more items on their menu that are worth a try. We also ordered pizza and it was pretty good. Would come back.
Found Primos by accident, and so glad we did! Large menu to choose from. Our server was helpful with his suggestions and attentive throughout the meal. Wide variety of clientele, including large family groups. Felt like a fun family! Well priced!
Pizza was OK. Pasta dishes were very good. Service from Vivian was inattentive and slow. Extensive menu. There a better Italian restaurants in the area.
Food was good. Server was friendly. Manager was polite & helpful. Now the reasons for the low score: All due to the server.Everyone within sight-distance, including the other single diner, who had a different server, received a bread basket with a dipping cup of oil filled with herbs. I got a small plate and a cup of oil, no herbs. YUK!My server dumped my dinner plate off on her way past my table walking to her next customers. My lemonade was a single serving, until I asked to see the manager. By this point, my meal was 75% eaten and my server was MIA.The manager gave me a free dessert, which was generous and appreciated, though I really just wanted better service. After dessert, I waited 15 minutes before I saw my server to request my check. When she finally brought it, she disappeared again and after 5 minutes more, I'd had enough. I ended up paying the server who was working the nearby tables. On the tip line of the credit card receipt I wrote NO. My starting point with tips for servers is between 25% and 30%, which only goes down if I receive bad service. I cannot remember ever stiffing a server in my entire life. When a customer complains to your manager that you're friendly but not providing good service, you should become more attentive, not less attentive. From start to finish I was there for 2 hours.
