Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar

When we very first walked in, we were taken to a table inside. I immediately started having an allergic reaction. I am extremely allergic to bleach. I started coughing and looked right at my boyfriend and he already knew (without me even speaking) and he said to me out loud "I can smell it too". . I told the host I was super sorry and I didn't mind waiting at the front but I needed an outside table preferably not in the doorway because I could still smell it outside.

After being set we sat at our table for about 15 minutes without menus. We hear the hostess screaming to text me right now. And I had to tell her I was right there sitting at a table and then I received two texts letting me know my table was ready.

The server stopped by and told us he'd be with us in a minute. And then he also asked if we would like to order any drinks or anything and I had to tell him, we do not have menus....

I was embarrassed for the lack of structure from almost every angle of the restaurant.

After ordering our appetizer we finally placed our food order in. We watched him write our order down and then go directly to a different table and greet them. And about 25 minutes later he came back to our table and said that our food was in the kitchen window but it didn't look like what we ordered. And then he asked us to repeat our whole entire order.

Both my fiance and I work at a steakhouse. We are both bartenders as well as servers so we know this trick. He lost our ticket and didn't want to admit it. Which okay I understand you have rough nights but also why are they seating him more than he can handle. It ruins the experience for everybody. So then after giving our whole entire order back to him. Our food still does not come out on the fly it still takes a decent amount of time. In our restaurant if that were to happen we put their order above everybody else's for the fact that they have already been waiting for so long .....

We then receive our food and our queso dip we ordered with the chips(at the beginning) was missing. So then a food runner came right back with it it was congealed and not not hot to touch at all. It was as if they shut their warmer off that they keep the cheese in or something because we didn't want anything to do with it.

Before our food came out we both asked for my fiance's drink two separate occasions to be replaced with something else because he did not like the DR pepper.. it took until after we were almost done with our meals to finally get that.

The server then offered dessert. We also know this trick as well because we use it in our store when people are dissatisfied with the quality of food or something like that. The service straight up was awful. We would have comped the whole check had it been our restaurant. I'm not one to ask for things like that. I did tip more than 20% still.... But you guys are not going to see us back there for quite some time.

We declined the free dessert. We just wanted to go home at that point... so he took care of the guac.

He then let us know that he knows things didn't go well.

You won't See us back there for quite some time.

Again I'm doing this in hopes that somebody of importance sees this agrees with me that

A- no chemicals of any kind that can be smelled by the naked nose should be used while people are inside of a restaurant dining where they are going to eat.....

B- when the hosts see people please make sure they give them the proper equipment so they're not just sitting at the table.

C- when a server loses somebody's ticket I feel like a manager should be involved at that point.The fact that one did not is either because the server did not let anybody of importance know that he had messed up or the manager just di

I like Rocco's Tacos. The food is very good. I like the outside seating and the service was good. The sangria's are very good by the way. I had the Birria Tacos, which were very delicious. A little high priced for what you get but it is in the UTC so the prices will be elevated. My wife had the shrimp Tacos (I believe), and my daughter had nachos. Everything was very good. I gave it a four star because it didn't really wow me. Rocco's is very good but I can get the same if not better for a much lower price, outside of UTC. Our waitress was nice and attentive.

Kid-friendliness: Not really kid friendly. If you have a picky kid you may need to stick to a quesadilla.

Don’t order a pitcher of margaritas. It’s 90% ice and they know it. A pure money grab. In addition to the pitcher being almost full of ice the cups we 90% ice too. When it was brought to there attention they said that’s there corporate standard. Very disappointed.

Great setting and great service, unfortunately that means nothing when it’s the absolute worst tacos, quesadillas, even the burger & fries were not edible no frozen margaritas?? The drinks were poorly made over poured and warm. Quesadillas came out wrong with under cooked veggies in it I guess is how they normally service it tasted like a cheap supreme pizza. Most expensive mexican restaurant with the worst food. They actually surcharged us to put cheese on the tacos. I’m like don’t tacos generally come with cheese everywhere. Absolutely awful food we were laughing the entire time of how pricey the menu items for how awful the food was.

Overall enjoyed our experience. The portions were good, and the chicken enchiladas, rice and beans were wonderfully seasoned. The tableside guac was bursting with flavor and better than the guac served with the quesadilla. Quesdilla (not pictured) was perfect balance of crispy and soft, lots of gooey cheese and flavorful.

It is a bit loud, and server could have been slightly more attentive (empty drinks) but overall good experience. We're looking forward to going back and trying something else!

Attempted to call 4 times to make a reservation. The phone rang so many times it hung up on its own. Upon arriving at 545pm for a 6pm reservation I was told my table was being cleaned. Finally sat at 620pm. Everything took 15 to 20 minutes to get after we ordered, drinks, appetizers, dinner. Furthermore in our party of 4 everyone got dinner except for me. Ordered the tableside Guacamole and watched our server make it for tables who got there after us.
