Pretty place. Food overrated and overpriced. Drinks are NYC priced.
Parking: Over priced. You’re paying for Decor. I did a round of simple drinks for 5 and it was $95 plus tip.

I hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner in the Terrace room and a Welcome reception on the rooftop for the wedding guests. The entire experience was great. James was so attentive. Cassie was the perfect server. She makes a great presentation of the menu before taking orders. She was so pleasant and efficient. Next was Logan. He was our go-to on the rooftop. I never had to ask him to do anything. He anticipated our needs, replenishing snacks and refilling our welcome bags without me even asking. Additionally, the maitre’d, bartenders, cocktail server (Shane), and bus people were so friendly and polite. Even got to meet the executive chef! I would definitely recommend holding your special event at Sage.

Sage has so many positives, like it's atmosphere, service and quality of ingredients. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday celebration and were treated so well. My only constructive feedback would be to include some more vegetarian options on the menu/vegetarian options that make for more of a complete and nutritionally balanced meal - ideally as thoughtfully curated as the rest of the menu. When we came, there were only really 2 appertizers we could choose from and 1-2 mains, one of which was just a large portion of sauteed mushrooms (though as a note local and very high quality, they just needed to be combined with something else) and the other a somewhat successful modification of a seafood dish (it just removed the seafood and didn't have any protein). So for us, the meal unfortunately ended up feeling a bit imbalanced/weird but we'd absolutely come again if we see some more balanced vegetarian items on the menu. On another note we had the best mocktail ("Nogarita") we've had in a while here and dessert was delishious!

Wife and I had dinner on the 18th to celebrate our anniversary. The food was outstanding and the service was on par with what one would expect from a four or five star restaurant. I would highly recommend.

We had the chance meet Chef Chris Covelli and enjoy his amazing creations. Courtenay our server was outstanding we will be back and recommend Sage to family and friends who are planning to visit Sarasota! Smoked old fashion and bees knees are amazing!

Wow...never has the buildup to an evening in the most beautiful restaurant in this area been so disappointing. Our group of 4 was greeted warmly and we chose to go up to the rooftop for a pre dinner cocktail...those were all wonderful, although alarminglyexpensive. At our appointed time we went back downstairs and were seated promptly. Our server was there immediately so we felt well taken care of. Everything on the menu sounded special but we decided on Caesar salads, a caprese salad, 2 duck entrees and 2 wild boar cannelloni. It was off to a bad start with the caesars...our bowls were filled with what seemed like the remnants of the romaine leaves, almost no green soft parts. There were no croutons (nor is pre dinner bread offered) and right off the bat we had to ask for salt and lemon wedges...it's not easy to screw up a Caesar so we were a bit concerned...$19 for a caesar should be a great caesar. The Caprese was nothing special and the tomatoes were barely ripened. The cannelonis...well, think 2 tiny Vietnamese spring rolls only an inch longer...they were filled with dry pork basically and dressed with a decorative display of sauce, of which there was barely enough. The flavor wasn't bad, but just not good enough for the expectations written in their marketing materials...and, for $36, well let's just say not good enough. The duck entrée with the risotto cake also didn't have much flavor, no sauce evident, and both were pretty dry. Since none of us really filled up on our meals we had room for dessert and oddly, the dessert menu doesn't show the prices and we forgot to ask, so God knows, of the $340 bill (a bottle of wine was included) how much those were! So, for the price, if you're happy with a gorgeous place and excellent service, this is a great place...but if food is important to you, steer clear. If the prices werent so exorbitant, we'd go back in case it was just an off night or we ordered the wrong items, but I doubt we will return or recommend Sage to others. Really disappointed.

Sage is very expensive yet they refuse to accommodate dietary needs. We enjoyed the food we had but they refused to eliminate buttery couscous so that a salmon dish could be dairy free. They said if I wanted fish I had to order the $58 bouillabaisse. We asked for bread and they said they don’t serve any. We saw French fries on a patrons plate and asked for a side. We were told that they don’t serve any sides and dont make exceptions because they only prep the exact amount for their steak dish for a single night.
My small soup was $19 and my small spinach salad was $19
The staff is wonderful but the chef is is unaccommodating. For the prices charged I suggest you go to Ocean Prime. They bend over backwards and give you extra bread, truffle popcorn and modify dishes for the same price point.

This restaurant had very delicious food, beautifully prepared and served. The atmosphere is warm and chubby. I had steamed clams and a bouillebaise that were tasty and perfectly prepared.

This review is for overall experience. I've been here a few times before. Not sure why I didn't leave a review. The ambiance is hands down amazing, kind of reminds me of New York City or Chicago. They have live music and the music tonight was definitely a groove that fit the atmosphere, she was amazing! The tastes were really great but I was a little disappointed with the meat I think I would have preferred a filet with a little more adventurous topping. The dessert menu is lacking it could be a bit more adventurous! I also felt like there could have been a better wine list, more extensive for the venue. But overall I would definitely go back, I felt like it was a fun atmosphere and creative cuisine and the server was lovely, also they have valet which is wonderful. It's a really unique downtown spot that I wouldn't miss! Definitely a place to check out.

Sage far surpasses anywhere in sarasota in atmosphere (historic building), service, all around, and especially on drinks. The quality and intention is unmatched. Beautiful rooftop space w a view and downstairs bar has incredible libations. Good quality and plating is superb and pricing is moderate compared to other white table cloth "claiming to be" 5 star dining options in sarasota. You can't go wrong

We sat at the main bar and Daly was a wonderful help selecting cocktails to match our taste. The drinks, food, and ambiance were incredible. I can't wait for my next visit! This is a perfect spot for dinner and drinks before a show at the Florida Studio Theater!
