I went to Sweet Mom Italy when I was on vacation in Sarasota. The food was FANTASTIC. What really sold me was a pianist that started playing while I was grabbing a quick bite. I'm not sure if this pianist was affiliated with the restaurant, but if he was, please keep him coming. One of my favorite moments of the trip.
A nice ending to the evening We stopped in almost by accident last night looking for gelato. I had not read reviews beforehand or I would have paid more attention to all the pasties in their display cases, my focus was in finding their gelato. At the end by the register we found it, a limited selection but certainly enough for us to pick something. It was also within an hour of closing, so the appearance was not that appealing. Lovely cafe with delicious espresso and amazing gelato! It feels very homey and authentic as it's run by an Italian couple. Plenty of seating for a quick conversation, but fast WiFi if you're looking to get some work done. Definitely planning to return for an affogato.
