Agree with the latest review. Employee working didnt even pay any attention to us. Walked right past and ignored us at the meat counter. Walked around for a minute, stood back at meat counter for a few minutes with no help. Only customers in the store. Terrible customer service. This was our first time stopping in as well and will find a different business to support.

Been here twice on visits to Sarasota. Meat quality is top knoch. Not sure about prices in the region but its about double the price of my local meat market of similar quality back home. Bought salmon last time and it was the best salmon ive had not professionally cooked.

I have spent thousands here over the years. I go in today and the guy is a complete jerk when I ask for a thicker strip because lately all their strips have been extremely thin. I say I want 1 3/4 inch and this is what I get. Get employees who treat people good. Will never spend another dollar here. Sad because the owner is a good guy. What hiring wrong does for a company.

We have ordered from them a few times. The quantity of meat has always been superb. My only criticism is that they do not have prices pushed in the case. Because they don't, I buy less there . I want to know upfront what things cost. I don't want to have to look them up.

Yesterday I Googled a butcher, looked at The Butcher's Block, really liked what I saw, but thought it was another location in Bradenton but happily it was mistake to find this one in Sarasota and I had a wonderful experience there today! The store itself is impeccable. The two butchers there were so skilled, professional, very kind, so very patient with me (I'm not a meat connoisseur) I went to get my 80 yr old mom's favorites and these folks delivered!! Veal, sliced perfectly for her, 2 thinly sliced boneless pork chops, a container of cabbage slaw, they actually had creamy cucumbers, and I also got mom (and me) spaghetti from the deli case. I'm tellin' ya right now, that spaghetti was FANTASTIC!! My whole experience that was TOP NOTCH!! I sure found my new GO TO SPOT!!

Love Butcher's Block - have been coming here for over 20 years. They roast their own ham, turkey and roast beef for luncheon meat, so you are buying meat with no preservatives. Also, my husband loves their egg salad - I drop in for egg salad and leave with $60 of groceries. Scott and staff very friendly and helpful with selections.

Their staff is incredibly nice and helpful and will spend as much time with you as you need with not a hint of impatience. From prime grade beef to A5 wagyu and exotic meats, this place has it all.
