Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi

This place is my all time favorite. The lava rock is just a neat experience overall. They have a unique variety of sushi rolls as well. I’ve been there probably over 20 times and it’s just amazing. ❤️

Just demolished a delivery from Tsunami which included the Sushi platter with a Kani salad… Not only delicious but carefully packed for delivery, which I appreciated…Incredibly fresh, TY Tsunami !

Omg delish! I don’t say that often I am a picky eater ( I eat like a 5 year old) The chicken and steak hibachi… the steak was perfect. Veggies fresh and crisp, and do not leave without trying the fried cheesecake. Lidia was a phenomenal server. Knowledgeable, and a hint of spunkiness. Do go!

I’m quite concerned about a recent experience at your restaurant. We noticed a stranger, a young person in a motorcycle helmet and all-black attire with a backpack, was allowed to enter and use the bathroom as a non paying guest. Not that there is an issue using the restroom, but the fact he walked around in a helmet the had a tinted mask and seemed threatening. This wasn’t ideal, especially given that this person had been loudly revving a motorcycle outside for 20 minutes beforehand racing up and down the street obnoxiously. Other customers had words to say as well to the host. Extremely drawing negative attention deliberately.

We voiced our concerns to the staff, hoping they would address the situation, but it seemed no one wanted to take responsibility of the issue (very young employees). As they continued to point and address the situation from the restaurant as if they had possibly known the person laughing and what seemed like mocking the kid on the bike. When we spoke to someone who we thought was the manager, we were told the owner wasn’t interested in taking any action to make the guests feel safe. Instead they turned a shoulder and acted as if nothing was really going on. Well it’s 2024 and I want to be able to feel safe when dining publicly.

Yes the food at this restaurant is good, the safety and comfort of guests are paramount. Given the circumstances, we’ve decided not to return sadly because we really enjoyed this spot. The owner and management had the option to make things safe and better yet after by apologizing. Instead they made us out to seem like we wanted a free hand out. “Ha”We’ll be sharing our experience on social media to ensure others are aware of how the owner and manger seem to support customers concerns big or small. In Sarasota, there are many dining options where guests can feel secure and valued, this one proved tonight where they stand.

Absolutely the best sushi I’ve had in years. This is now my favorite sushi restaurant!

It's wonderful that you have a whole page of vegan options, but a half of them are not vegan because those items include the Tempra which are fried in the same oil as they fry animals body parts. Please consider using separate oil for the items you call vegan.

I only went in for a quick lunch and each team member couldn’t have been nicer. They sat me quickly and provided a great option when I wasn’t sure what I wanted. The servers and host were all great, Jacob is the man!

My family and I went to eat here last Saturday, & upon ordering our drinks the waitress dropped the whole tray of drinks on my 4 year old son. Not one employee apologized or even tried to help. We had to leave because my poor child was soaked and sobbing. Not one manager has returned my call and we are going on 5 days since I called. I can’t forget to mention this place was absolutely disgusting & dirty. I would never recommend anyone eat here.

Tsunami is hands down my favorite spot in town, a Sarasota Staple. They're incredibly philanthropic and always support our community. Whenever I have guests in town, Tsunami is our go-to for an amazing night, with outstanding service and even better cuisine.

Yummy and beautiful food as always! Loved the Dragon Ball appetizer, Crimson Roll and Lychee Martini. My sweetie always gets his favorite Big Daddy Roll.
