I'm 1/2 Puerto Rican and my husband is Cuban. We moved here from South Florida where you can find the best of all Caribbean Island's food on every corner. La Lechonera is the real deal. Large portions and authentic recipes. Tastes like my Abuela used to make (with all ingredients coming from her own land). I'm sure it's difficult to make a profit during these times of increased prices for ingredients, so I understand why the owner raised prices and will continue...
The food is delicious and the servings are huge. The entire staff is pleasant and courteous. I think the reviewers stating otherwise might have had a bad day? I would say to try them yourself. I recommend them and I'm a Caucasian, so there isn't a problem other than my bad pronunciation of the names of the food. I get a little giggle from the nice lady who took our order.
Food was outstanding, pernil was very tasty . Remi ded me of my mom's cooking. So great. Only thing is that they need more help. Worth the small wait though. Will definitely be back!
