Casa Reina Taqueria & Tequila provides a lively and cozy dining experience with a great atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. The food is very tasty, with highlights like the Nashville Taco, Hot Chicken Tacos, and the best grouper tacos. Dishes such as the grilled steak plate, Carnitas platter, surf & turf bowl, tuna bowl, steak salad, and seafood enchiladas are wonderful. The shrimp are juicy, the steak is tender, and everything is well-seasoned and fresh. Portions are huge. Chips and salsa are perfect while waiting for the meals, and the drinks, including a hibiscus margarita, a regular margarita, and a spicy one recommended by the bartender, are excellent. The outdoor seating offers a nice experience, though the tables for two can be a bit tight. The rooftop seating offers spectacular views, adding to the enjoyable environment and great ambience. Parking can be challenging, but the overall experience is worth the effort. The stand out of the night were the Churros and they were unbelievable. Despite some inattentive service noted by a customer, the restaurant’s blend of Mexican flavors and charming setting makes Casa Reina a recommended spot in St. Augustine.
