First visit and will definitely be back. Loved the whole experience. Had the pork belly and it was the best I've ever had. Also the cod was delicious and the sweet potato went well with the fish. Will definitely try the steak next time.

Holy moly! Everything was fantastic from the drinks to the service to the food. We ordered the wagyu gyoza, toro, glazed carrots, cabbage, black cod and wagyu dinner. The gyoza and black cod were to die for! The sauce on the glazed carrots was incredible. We dipped everything in it! The chocolate dessert was incredible too. Would eat here 3 times a day for the rest of my life.

Fortu had a nice atmosphere with an elegant ambiance - small inside and covered patio seating. The fried rice with wagyu was fantastic - our favorite dish. The wagyu ribeye was $78 for the steak alone - and was overcooked/over fried with too much oil. It wasn't worth the price and didn't taste like wagyu. The potato starter was basically a fried potato and was alright. The food overall was presented nicely.

Me and my wife went for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Fortu and we were so pleased with everything the food was amazing and the atmosphere and service were fantastic.

It was our first time at Fortu, but definitely won't be our last! Pam was our server and was personable and welcoming from start to end. Everything we ate was a MUST. The Caesar salad, steak tartar (with milk bread!!), dumplings, Japanese sweet potato, and fried rice were incredible. We got the miso black cod which absolutely melts in your mouth, and the wagyu ribeye which was cooked to perfection with the best char crisp. My husband deemed it best meal he's ever had. Everyone in our group is planning our next visit, soon.

food was good, service not so good. seems every time we go there all the staff has a major attitude. When we were asked if we would like dessert, we asked if it was the same items. After the answer of "yes" and we said no, the waiter basically threw the check at us & never said thank you. I would have to think hard about going back

Had a fantastic meal at FORTU! The Wagyu gyoza was the perfect starter—flavorful and cooked just right. For our main course, we shared the fried rice, scallops, and a 14 oz ribeye. Every dish was excellent, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The scallops were tender, and the steak was cooked exactly as requested. Overall, the food was very good, and I highly recommend this place for a great dinner. We will definitely be back!

We came here in October 2025 to celebrate our anniversary, and everything was absolutely amazing! Such an upscale yet cozy atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food! If you like Japanese food, this spot is definitely a must try!! We can clearly see why it is on the Michelin Guide's recommended list!
Also a shoutout to Fortu for having a great sake selection! The Dragon God is one of our favorite bottles, and we have a hard time finding it in the US! So happy you all had it on your menu!!

We had a wonderful experience at Fortu, can't wait to go back. They have some great drinks and the food was fantastic. We arrived when they opened, which I recommend doing as it got pretty busy as we were leaving.

Great food, great service and ambiance. My third time here and it is consistent. Our server was from Montenegro and he had the nicest attitude and smile. We were there for a triple birthday party with one of us being vegan, and they did everything to make it a special day! Thank you ! I am a St Pete resident and I certainly will be there again. I just wish that they bring the beautiful custom and different steak knives back again.

Fortu is always an amazing experience with great food! Be sure to order the Potato Mille Feuille appetizer. The Miso Black Cod and Wagyu Ribeye are some favorite entrees of mine. The Prix Fixe Menu is a really nice option to try a variety of items.

This was really disappointing. The food is okay. Most of it was subpar. The karaage and pork belly are really good, but they will sell you like a 5x portion of it with rice on Uber eats compared to what you get when you go in. This would have been disappointing but not a big deal if it didn’t take us an hour to get our (raw) appetizers and then another 45 to get our mains.
Our reservation was for super early and because no one acknowledged anything was wrong we were kind of left to debate whether we should ask them to cancel our food so we could get to our next thing on time.
