Found this restaurant by chance. The service was a bit chaotic - we thought we might be in the midst of a Gordon Ramsey take over show. Turns out there is brand new ownership and the staff was new too - so we were patient. Otherwise the food was absolutely fantastic - really outstanding salads and mains. High quality Italian food - would definitely go back ☺️

We had a disaster of a service experience at Mateos. Our server was mia and our wine came when we were almost done eating and the Manager refused to take it off the bill. We asked our server for a recommendation on the food on the menu and he responded, that he had no idea. I’d skip this place in favor of one of the many delicious Italian places in st pete.

Marissa the bartender was so friendly
Just came upon this gem due to hunger and my smeller. If you don't try this place you are truly missing out.
Thanks to the entire staff, starting with Papa to floor cleaner, the evening could not have been topped off any better. ❤️
