Great spot on the water in St. Pete. The Big Catch has a relaxed old-Florida vibe with outdoor seating right by the docks, live music, and a friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. The seafood is fresh and flavorful, especially the grouper, peel-and-eat shrimp, and fish spread. Portions are generous, drinks are cold, and the atmosphere is hard to beat. Perfect place to bring friends, enjoy the sunset, and have a casual meal by the water.

Arrived and a very friendly server was behind the bar asked for two Yuengling and two waters from the bar offered to pay and the nice person said that a new waiter was coming and he would put it on his check, no problems we turned around sat at the counter facing Salt Creek sipping our beer and water. Just Happy! About 30 minuets later Chia F , well that's what the name is on my receipt came for our order I said I would like the boom boom shrimp as an appetizer and the Big catch platter my husband said I will have the buffalo chicken wings and beans and rice as a meal. Chia replied do you want the chicken wings and boom boom shrimp first I said no we just want the boom boom shrimp first he them snapped back what flavor do you want we were kinda confused and my husband said on the wings medium. Chia was standing to my left my husband was sitting to my right mind you this is just the bar facing the creek at the back bar chia reached from my left across my body and face to grab the menu on the other side of my husband and he was so close I said excuse me. Well that was the end of our service he did throw down two little plates and two forks twenty minutes later we did receive our four boom boom shrimp. We waited what seemed like for ever to get out dinner that was server by someone other than our waiter and my platter was cold, in the meantime we had finished our first beer and had the cans crushed and on their side laying on the bar and Chia walked by us at least six times never offering to bring us another beer or fill our water, he was standing next to us three times talking to the people two chairs away just chit chatting. I finely went to the other bar and ordered another beer and asked the bartender who was the who server us our first beer what did we do to the guy serving us. When our food was server I had to go find condiments in a basket off another table by the other bar. He never checked back to see if our meal was ok or if we needed anything, no drink ,no napkins , no ketchup, nothing. He did have to bring us the check that was the second time he waited on us. We loved the food and service in the past but this might be a hard no in the future and the excuse that he was to busy is just crap when you have two people sitting at the door and the other guy at the other bar with one guy sitting there and what seemed to be a cook just walking around.. For gods sake do better there are so many other places to eat ...

This is a great little St. Petersburg neighborhood restaurant and bar. It sits right on Salt Creek and you can drive up in your boat. Joe at the bar mixes a great margarita. Drop in for seafood and a drink. This place feels like the keys and is really laid back.

The Big Catch at Salt Creek is a great restaurant for a festive and fun meal. Strategically located on the water in St Petersburg it offers a great view.
The Staff is incredible, both courteous and attentive. There was ample free parking in and around the restaurant. The Big Catch at Salt Creek is a bit deceiving from the curb where it looks like a small restaurant, when in fact it's large and extends to the water. This restaurant is great for anyone, whether you are dining out alone or with a large group. There's an added bonus with live music.
As for food, I would definitely recommend the fish tacos 🌮 with it large portions. As for dessert ,I would suggest the Banana Foster's dish.

Let's begin with how spectacular the coconut shrimp was. The flavors were dancing in my mouth! A touch of sweet withh a touch of salty, a little crunchy yet a little soft. The combination did it for me. The side salad was also good. I had the grouper and fries next. Fried to perfection and I asked for a little of the cocunut shrimp sauce to add to my fish as well. Not that I needed it, I just really enjoyed the sauce.
Let's talk staff- Alex was suoer friendly, very attentive, not at all oushy, alowed us to take our time before ordering. We were engaged in conversation and her interruptions were not abrasive nor harsh. She came at the right time, took our orders, there was timely delivery of the food. She ebsured we had enough napkins, refilled our drinks and I just got to focus and enjoy my friend company as we were celebrating her birthday there.
Now let's talk atmosphere- the restaurant is overlooking an inlet. Guests were pulling uo by boat to enjoy the wonderful food. There was live music and a great view of the water no matter where you sat. Folks came with their children AND PETS, so it's very family friendly. The dolphins must have enjoyed the music too because they came out to greet us but ducked back under the water before I had an opportunity to snap a photo. That was a real treat!
Overall I really enjoyed my time here, I highly recommend it for the food, service and atmosphere. The parking lot is not paved so I would recommend beach type shoes. I will be back!

We stopped there with our RV and enjoyed a beautiful location and great food. We loved the the fried grouper cheeks! Never had before. The sandwiches and beans and rice were great as well as plantains and cheese cake. To top it all they have a great cocktail selection. We will stop again when we are in the area 😊

Bj was the BEST, the food was some of the best seafood around. My Baton Rouge born wife had the blackened snapper w/ cajun crawfish sauce and gave it 2 thumbs up. The vibe being outside and on the water was spot on and the reggae live singer was the cherry. I can't say a single negative about the place.
