Oliver and his staff run an amazing operation. It's low-key and relaxed, with an enjoyable atmosphere. Their selection of wines is superb and you're able to sample rare and hard-to-find wines you may never have had the chance to before. We make it a habit to go every year when we're in town for the Grand Prix.

Way long overdue review!!! I have been traveling and so busy but today I had to sit down and give this amazing place its flowers! We went there in July during my husband’s bday celebration weekend around July 9th there after. Wow all I can say I’m still dreaming about the place, the food, the service and ambiance!!! I wish the owners can go and train the AC hotel rooftop hotel in fact I told the manager at our hotel if they want to stay in business they need to take a trip down the block and beg the owners of this place to train their staff!! This place is exceptional and they deserve all the success!! The food is top notch but their team there is what makes it 10 out of 10. They want you to leave happy. I love them and only wish they can open more places all over Florida. I’ll be back soon!!

Very disappointed - live nearby & used to enjoy this place. Last night we went for a glass of wine before our reservations for elsewhere later on. We were greeted by a young man who directed us to a table marked "reserved" and offered us menus. We told him we simply wanted a glass of wine - we were still directed to the "reserved" table. I remarked that things had changed - we had hoped to purchase the auto card and help ourselves to wine. A young lady stepped in - said "of course" and we went to the register, gave her our credit card & she provided cards needed to serve ourselves wine- she assured me twice that she would return my credit card shortly. She did not.
The machine I used was obviously not working correctly - was sputtering air mixed with wine that splattered all over inside my glass - no matter - we proceeded to sit at the table we had been directed to, still dubious of the "reserved" sign. The original young man came over & advised us we could not sit there unless we were ordering food - He had not mentioned that before. If we wanted to only drink wine, we would need to go down to a small area near the register- and we would NOT be allowed to sit down, only stand at a high table.
At that time I said that I would leave, and would request a refund. I went to the register, and was by met by another man- a manager?- who began to explain to me "how this all works- we have 3 areas....' I requested a refund and my CC returned to me. He resisted and advised me that he would return my CC IF I returned to the "reserved" table I had been forced to leave AND read a menu. I told him if I were billed, I would dispute it with my bank. Evidently, they have a new chef & they are going crazy trying to get people to order food. I had already told them that we had reservations elsewhere.
We did return to the table - I really wanted my CC back. In short order, I was presented with a bill and my CC. I took my CC and left. I did not pay a bill - we had drank no more than 2 sips of wine.
I live in the neighborhood and had walked there in 95 degree heat. I do not intend to patronize ANY business that refuses to allow me a seat to enjoy a glass of wine. I also will not patronize a business that holds me hostage by refusing to return my CC until I perform some activity they mandate.
Never again - I have watched this place since they have opened. They are constantly trying to reinvent themselves- and it is obviously not working. The manager seems to have forgotten the fantastic restaurant & bar choices that DT St Pete has to offer. Go elsewhere- have a seat- enjoy your wine.
Quite an interesting response this morning - since I had been advised they would return my CC IF I SAT BACK DOWN & READ A MENU - AND they "decided Not to charge me" is a lie- the charge is on my CC this morning.
We were TWICE encouraged to sit at the reserved table, and when told by the young man we had to move, we reminded him that it was in fact HIM who had told us to sit there - then he denied it. Very poor organization and mgmt. The charge the you say you did not apply but shows up on my CC this morning will be disputed. Caveat emptor - another poorly run business that refuses to take responsibility for their poor business practices.

Unfortunately our first visit to try wine resulted in Try Harder. 3 stars, and we are a business owner that relies on our customers experience and their reviews. We really had high expectations, and maybe that's why it only resulted in three stars. And again, let me reiterate, it is just this one and only experience, maybe another go-around will result in 5 stars. We walked in when they first opened at 1:00 p.m. And totally relied on the waitress recommending good food to 2 customers that we're starving and did not care about price. We did end up with one good recommended, an appetizer, the Brie en Route, but the recommended Board #2, was bland and overpriced for what you get to say the least. I could have gotten a better board at Publix. I won't go into great detail, but needless to say, we left thirsty and hungry. I ordered a Bottle of French Vouvray that I knew they had, I got a little push back from the waitress insisting they did not have it, luckily a second waitress chimed in and said yes we do have it. The wine was good, the food was mediocre, and the atmosphere, well, was what you would expect for a downtown St. Pete wine shop. With that said, we will go back and try again. Ordering on our own accord. Go for yourself, I highly recommend stopping in to see what you think. Oh, and they add 18% gratuity whether you spend a dollar or $1,000. Cheers!

Attended the exquisite HELYX dinner tasting experience.
The intimate gathering, tailored for around 14 guests, showcased each course with meticulous attention to detail.
Accompanying wines were expertly paired, featuring a selection of exceptional choices. Although the 2 oz pours were delightful, I believe offering 3 oz pours would enhance the wine appreciation experience.
Constructive feedback aside, the staff could elevate their attentiveness, particularly in the realm of basic water service.

I bought 2 bottles of wine online for $100 each and at the same moment I realized that I had got the wrong wine, so I wrote 3 emails and called 2 times, to ask to cancel that order and exchange it for the right one. Not only they never respond. They even lied when I finally agreed to keep the wine. All excuses. It is NOT a trustworthy company. I finally spoke with the CEO of the company and he perfectly understood the errors and was kind in accepting them. For this reason I raised my initial rating.
I recently visited Try Wine in St. Pete, FL, with my work company, and our first impression was nothing short of excitement and amazement. The unique ambiance and variety of wines caught our attention immediately, making it a place unlike any we've experienced before. The wine selection, ranging from reds to whites, old country to new country wines, and even dessert wines, was impressive. The interactive half-ounce, ounce, or glass serving options added a fun element to the experience. The card system for payment was user-friendly, allowing us to explore the diverse wine offerings effortlessly.Opting for a charcuterie board, we were eager to try the curated selection of treats. Priced at $40, the board included an array of tempting items. However, upon its arrival, we were surprised by its size, as it seemed barely sufficient for two people. The absence of meats was unexpected given the price, and the initial cheese and bread quality were not up to par.Nevertheless, the staff went above and beyond to address our concerns. They promptly replaced the cheeses, and in the end, they even comped the board, turning it into a learning opportunity. Despite our initial hesitation to inquire about certain aspects, the staff's kindness encouraged a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.Overall, Try Wine offers a unique and exciting wine-tasting experience, and while there were hiccups with the charcuterie board, the exceptional service and willingness to rectify concerns left a positive impression. I appreciate their commitment to customer satisfaction and the opportunity to expand my knowledge in a welcoming environment.
