I cannot believe any one would come on here and give less than 5 stars. This place felt like waking into grandmas house. Immediately felt loved and appreciated. Everything is homemade and freaking delicious. 🥺 The lady who served my ice cream, I'm assuming is Barb. And she was the sweetest ever in the whole world. Y'all go and you better be nice to her! ❤️🤧
I recently visited Barb's Gourmet at 1671 N Monroe St cottage 6a, in Tallahassee, FL. I spend a nice afternoon spending a little time here. I enjoyed all the varieties of brittle, and chocolates, and candies. Barb was there and I got a chance to compliment here of what a nice place. I made my purchase and was gone.
The owner was really nice and welcoming. She was very informative and I loved hearing about how her business came to be.
For anyone who thinks the ice cream isn't sweet enough-I think they're probably just used to regular store-bought ice cream with a lot of added sugar. This ice cream has the right amount of sweetness. Definitely recommend it.
We were excited to try this black owned ice cream shop on a hot day and were very disappointed. Aside from the customer service, the ice cream was okay. Pretty plain and boring tasing for it to have so many flavors. It was really the service that made the experience so poor. We were kindly being helped by the son and daughter then the owner Barb came from the back being so rude. Didn’t even want to get me the scoop of ice cream with the toppings on it. There was no body in there already and it wouldn’t have been an issue to do that. Now we can understand why this establishment has slow business. Ended up tossing the ice cream and going to the place down the street.
Everything was excellent and great customer service.
Wow, just wow. I thought I didn’t like brittle. Not anymore. Found this place walking with my family at Ella lake. It was so good we went back the next day and one more time today (to load up for trip home) 10 stars!!!!
I’m not sure what the hype about this place is at all. The owner was extremely unwelcoming and rushed us without letting us sample any ice cream flavors. The ice cream itself was lacking in flavor and almost watered down. Probably the worst tasting ice cream I’ve ever had. Didn’t try the truffles or brittle, but definitely will not be returning for the ice cream.
It’s a cute clean shop but we got the brittle, pralines and ice cream, spent 25.00 and none of it was sweet, it’s like they don’t use sugar, or very very little, it’s fine for those who don’t really care for that much sugar but we wanted something sweet, ended up throwing most of it away, the ice cream didn’t taste like butter pecan at all, no flavor, pralines were not sweet and the peanut brittle was this as a dime and not sweet at all!
Amazing food and amazing service!

I strongly recommend this place. I literally have had all flavors and all of them are amazing. My favorite flavor is Chocolate Sunflower. The owner treated me like her friend even though I am an Asian and had strong English accent. I enjoyed the best home made Ice cream! Arigato!!!

The ice cream is super good and not overly sweet like cold stone and other places. The service was 10/10 as they took the time to talk to us and let us try out different flavors.

Owners are amazing. Took time to ask about my tastes and matched me with so much great stuff! Try the pecan popcorn! Come for the sweets, come back for the top-tier service.

If you’re looking for a treat that goes beyond the usual, Barb’s Brittles is the place to be! This ice cream and candy shop crafts all their ice cream and sweets from scratch, and the love they put into their creations shines through. I had the pleasure of trying their Rum Craisin ice cream, and it was nothing short of delicious – creamy, rich, with a perfect balance of rum flavor and sweet raisins. The texture was spot on, and you could tell it was freshly made.
Whether you're craving unique ice cream flavors or handmade sweets, Barb's Brittles is definitely worth a visit. A true gem in Tallahassee for anyone with a sweet tooth!
Very clean and pleasant ambiance. Interesting artwork and inspirational messages on the walls. All of the treats and ice cream
are homemade by Barb. Fresh and delicious!
