So this place is suuuuuper cute! I want to visit again when I'm not in a super rush and can just sit and take in the art and history. I had no idea when I entered that it was black-owned. I had the pistachio ice cream with pistachio brittle in a small sugar cone. It was refreshing and tasty and one scoop was more than enough. I believe Miss Barb herself served me and she had a little sassy demeanor that I couldn't help but be amused by. I'll definitely return to try more soon and take in the nostalgic ambiance.

Upon entering we were greeted and given details on how the ice cream was made and which ones included gluten, which I avoid. There is a lot more than ice cream here, and it's all beautifully handmade in a compact space at Lake Ella. After selecting our flavors, we sat outside enjoying Barb's delicious homemade ice cream, vanilla and strawberry. My husband said, "she makes good ice cream." Indeed, she does.

I do not recommend this store, because the Owners are liars and Thieves. Back in the day, when My Child was only around 4 years of age, they took her picture before leaving the Store. A couple of Weeks later, a friend saw that picture Blown up as a full size ad in the Airport!!I was livid, to say the least. Their only response was, "I'd take it as a Compliment". I will have followed through with legal action, if I had been in the Position to do so. However, due to Google and Social Media, I can now Expose them for the terrible individuals that they are. Hahahaha!!!!!!!

The service was amazing, and everyone who worked there was great. We tried two flavors of ice cream, a chocolate chip cookie, and a big peanut butter cup, and all of it had hardly any flavor.

Got the coffee ice cream with hazelnut brittle. It was okay- Icy in texture and not a lot of coffee flavor and no brittle. Chocolate ice cream was also lacking flavor. Service was good though and it’s a cute shop.

Had a milkshake and it was really "watery" and the ice cream did not have much flavor. Customer service was not great either.
Barbs fudge was phenomenal, it just melted in my mouth. I can't belive I waited so long to come here. The chocolate chip cookie was good as well.She has a nice selection of sweets for everyone, be sure to check it out.

Nothing short of AMAZING! Always welcomed with a great smile and hearty conversation. Moved down to Tallahassee in the Fall and the shop feels like a small piece of home! And the sweet potato pie, WOW! Best desert I’ve had in my life and look forward to my weekly trip to get my pie every Saturday. Simply the best!

The person that served us (whom I believe is the owner) was such a delight to speak to and she gave us the run down of their nice variety of flavors with such detail and enthusiasm that I could taste every flavor as she described them! Now moving on to the ice cream…… Just WOW! The ice cream taste so rich and full of flavor, that it gave me a sort of elegance as I took each bite. I HIGHLY recommend this to ANYONE & EVERYONE in the Tallahassee area looking for an experience like never before!

Barb's has a vast selection of lovingly crafted, delicious sweets. The chocolate truffles are to die for, the ice cream is delectable, and the cookies & cream peanut butter cup is my new favorite sweet treat.The gourmet shop is located right next to Lake Ella, making Barb's a great spot to grab a snack for a walk around the lake.
