I had been looking for a Jazz spot when I found the Blue Tavern. And while it's a nice place, I came away slightly disappointed. First off, the service was excellent. The bartender served as both drink maker and waitress. Attentive, friendly and personable. Even the band that night was very friendly and willing to talk during their intermission between songs. This part of my experience was very pleasurable and IMO makes this a nice location as a watering hole.

When I first move back to North Florida, I was told by a cousin that the Blue Tavern was just my kind of place, I decided to check it out over a year ago and have totally fallen for the place. They take care to prepare interesting dishes and their shows have great variety and diversity. I don't think I could describe it any better than to call it eclectic Electricity.

A Tallahassee institution. Wonderful vibes. Great people.
Went during Open Mic night. Did not disappoint.
Alcohol is fairly cheap. Really, not much more you can ask for in a bar.
