The atmosphere is quaint and easy. It is a very small restaurant so be prepared for that. The food was really good, though the fufu was way too tight and bouncy. The menu is brand enough for many to enjoy.

Fun dinner! Fun to try new foods. Service was great and the food good. I look forward to trying different African areas food.

We recently had someone recommend this place to us, and so decided to try it out. We are so glad we did, oh my gosh, it is amazing! Only thing is, we got there too late to eat there, so we had to take the food home. It was delicious, but the place is also beautiful and we would’ve loved to dine in. So we will be back and we recommend you check this place out as well because it’s just incredible!

I tried african food last April for the first time, very authentic(not this place) but it was sooooo spicy and I didn't like the fishy smell or task in my soup..I decided to give it a try again at this place. (9/9/2023)It's a not for me.. Not much flavor. The serve was nice but we waited about 2hours, sitting on very uncomfortable stools. My husband and daughter like their meal. I think you have to have an acquired taste for this type food. I do think for the price and since it a different type food they should have samples. Most of the complaints for this place is the long wait(I agree) so for the owner, please find a better way to handle this..offer a few bucks off you have customers waiting..offer sample drinks, or something..

Really good authentic food. I’ll provide q photo next visit. Randomly met the owner and told him I had to meet the man who made my food, and the chef happened to be getting it of the car. Real cool people. I thanked them both. The food was very flavorful and great portion. I had some rice with some spicy beef and wow. Had to go back the next day.The hibiscus drink was great too. This place is Crispy Kartel certified

Disappointed. Food is always great, but the service is horrible and double standards for certain individuals. I noticed with my boyfriend and I some customers were treated better than others. We asked for an extra plate with our meals, and the waitress said she could not due to that "being the experience" and told us to use napkins. The group behind us got extra plates, which was confusing. Both times we went, we were treated poorly with sarcastic, rude behavior. Will not be going back or saying anything great about this restaurant again.

Disappointing, sadly. I feel like they could've put a lot more care into the production and flavor of these dishes. The fufu in particular was a flavorless, inedible mush. Please consider working on this, y'all. I was really looking forward to some delicious stew, fufu, and jollof, but I have to seek it elsewhere (probably Atlanta?). I hope y'all work on improving the recipes and production because Florida needs more quality African food options when dining out ??

This is a gem of a restaurant, a rare find in Tallahassee. The food is so flavorful. My wife and I had two different bowls for lunch (the Sankofa and the Swahili bowl) and they were both excellent. You can't find another place like this in Tallahassee. I strongly recommend it.

Love love love! Tried for the first time yesterday after wanting to go for months! I got the egusi with fufu because our waitress said it was a fan favorite. I loved it! I also love that all the options are vegan/vegetarian friendly until you add your protein :) I will definitely be back!

Eating here is a beautiful experience for all 5 senses. The food and drinks are full of color and flavor. So many vegetarian options. The boutique and music are amazing. And Bryant is such a kind soul. Be sure to order sweets! This has become my favorite restaurant in Tallahassee.

Found this little gem during my stay in Tallahassee! A nice, quaint environment with amazingly kind staff! Bryant truly is a hard worker that gave great recommendations. The Moroccan Lamb was delicious and definitely recommended! I look forward to coming back again when I come back to Tallahassee!

Food is good, spicey, and tasty like food should be. Portions are portioned, put it that way. I will be back to sample their fufu.

We have new friends in town from Ghana and we wanted to try this place before we invited them to dine with us. We were not familiar with any items on the menu, but the minute we walked inside and smelled the wonderful aromas, we knew we would line this place! The server was very patient with us when she explained the different menu items. We tried the Swahili Bowl with chicken, the Selassie bowl with chicken, and an app od injera and Shiro. We also had 2 African beers (Habesha). The app was very tasty. The Chips were "soft" which were a surprise, but we loved the flavors. Each entree seemed like small portions when served, but they were very dense. We barely could finish the meal because it was so filling. Delicious and complex seasonings. We loved it! Total price, before tax and tip was $38.00...an appetizer, two entrees, and two beers. The food was delicious! I want to return to try the oxtail and the goat dishes. It was a small dining area, but the food was very good. They offer dishes from different regions of Africa, and we cannot wait to try them all!
