Patio seating. Just in time course arrival. Amazing, authetic, beautifully placed courses. Melt in your mouth dry aged steaks. Outstanding service (if so lucky to get Cole). Probably the best place to take a special someone for a special dinner. Throughly enjoyed the evening.

A nice date spot in downtown Tallahassee. Food is ample, shareable and cooked to order. Drinks are well made and made to order as well. Wait staff is friendly, helpful and smartly dressed. Wait staff also take a note from traditional restaurant staff where they can refill drinks or remove plates and utensils without being noticed.Parking: There is valet parking on site and street parking down the block for this restaurant. Depending on the hours, street parking may be free or paid by meter.Kid-friendliness: This restaurant is not kid friendly.

Last weekend we had the pleasure of attending Cleaver & Cork a fundraiser for TCC. Il Lusso was there and I was so impressed with their eggplant parm I made a reservation for this evening for my husband and I. We arrived at 7:15pm and sat on the patio. Took a few minutes for our server to come by, but we got water right away. We ordered drinks & they brought us some focaccia and olives. Another couple arrived and was seated by us about 15 min later. We ordered a ceasar salad and two pasta dishes - I ordered the bucatini carbonara (half order) and my husband got the porcini tortellini (full order). Our salads came and were pretty drenched in oil, but we added salt and pepper and moved on. We patiently waited for our pasta as we watched the couple next to us get their meals. We waited some more. They did refill our waters several times, so there’s that! The table next to us has now finished their meals and we are still waiting. Our food finally arrived at around 8:50pm. My half order of bucatini was spaghetti and my husbands full order included 10 very delicious tortellini. $27 for 10 tortellini seemed a bit steep and I’m not sure if they thought maybe we wouldn’t realize that my dish was spaghetti (bucatini is hollow, spaghetti is not), but after waiting that long for food it wasn’t worth asking. The manager must have been told we waited forever because he came out and offered us free dessert. We accepted and asked for coffee while we waited. Ordered a simple tiramisu - got our coffees, but they were gone by the time our tiramisu arrived 20 minutes later.Paid our bill, got our car and left at 9:30pm. Also, if you have bucatini on your menu - make sure that’s what you serve ?Il Lusso, I really wanted to love you, but I think we are one and done.

We came for a delayed Valentines dinner. Booked a reservation for 5pm and there was a line at the door waiting for them to open at 4:50pm. A leisurely 2 hour dinner awaited us.They started us off with rosemary foccacia and assorted olives. We were recommended a wine that we ended up loving! So of course we bought a bottle. We basically ordered something from every section of the menu. I started with the Caesar salad (pitiful, skip this) and hubby got the meatball. I should have got the meatball! Man, it was good!We both ordered the prime Delmonico ribeye. Meat quality and temp was perfect. Only thing that could have made it out of this world would have been a little more salt.We both ordered half pastas: the Lobster mezzaluna and the carbonara. Both good, but lackluster compared to the rest of the meal.I finished dinner with a Moscow Mule and he had a sweet tea. Both were Lovely. We shared the crispy Brussel sprouts. ORDER THE DAMN SPROUTS! You're welcome. We ended our meals with dessert. They were no longer serving the crostada which bummed us out, but we were happily surprised with the baked Alaska . That meringue?! Golllly! I opted for the tiramisu. It was exactly how it should be.Service was impeccable

Ah, the mere thought of that evening transports me to a realm of culinary enchantment. Upon arrival, the ambiance whispered of subtle sophistication, a prelude to the gastronomic ballet that awaited. The maître d' welcomed us with a grace that set the stage for an evening of unparalleled hospitality. Our server, a connoisseur of fine dining, navigated us through the menu with the finesse of a seasoned sommelier, their suggestions resonating with our palates' deepest desires. Each course was a crescendo of flavors, masterfully crafted and presented with an artist's touch. The chef, a virtuoso of the kitchen, orchestrated a symphony of taste that left our senses in rapturous delight. And throughout this exquisite performance, the staff attended to our every need with a discretion that only heightened the sense of luxury. It was as if the stars themselves aligned to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of celestial. In that moment, we were not merely guests; we were royalty partaking in a feast of epicurean brilliance. The memory of that night lingers like the delicate aftertaste of a fine wine, a testament to the sublime service that graced our presence. Truly, an evening etched in the annals of dining legend. ??✨

Nicest restaurant in Tally. Had the best steak of my life here on two different occasions. Their 14oz delmonico is phenomenal, but also $80.

The experience was overall rather mediocre, even though the service was wonderful. From the starters, we ordered the charred octopus and fritto misto. The charred octopus was very good; although the pork belly addition was, in my opinion, unnecessary. The fritto misto was tender but nothing too special and on the oily side. For the main courses, we ordered the squid ink mafaldine and the porcini tortellini. The mafaldine was good, but slightly overcooked. The tortellini was terrible, as it was overly salty, the sauce was watery, and the presentation was awful - literally looked like it was thrown on the plate. We ended up returning it without an issue and replaced it with lobster mezzaluna. The latter was again, just okay, nothing special on the flavor and also on the salty side. Lastly, we tried the ricotta cheesecake from the dessert menu, which was quite average and not very flavorful, but the consistency looked great. The chocolate sauce and hazelnut brittle overpowered any little taste that the cheesecake had. That said, all our servers were very attentive and did their best to accommodate us. However, we will not be returning to Il Lusso as it did not offer the fine dining experience that we were expecting.

My daughter and I went there on Wednesday, 1/24, and were seated right away. We were there to celebrate my birthday, and we had reservations. Forty-five minutes, later, still no food, and we had only ordered two entrees. The female server did not apologize for or explain the lengthy wait despite walking by our table numerous times and holding lengthy conversations with the adjacent tables. We almost walked out, but after 50 minutes, the food arrived. Meanwhile, the server did nothing but bring the iced tea that I ordered. It was the other staff who brought us water and a bread appetizer, and who lit the table candle. The server was completely inattentive. Regarding the food: The Grouper was delicious, as usual. The Cacio e Pepe, however, was a major disappointment: clumpy and dry--inappropriately cooked and executed. If the cooks don't know how to make this entree, which is deceptively difficult for most restaurants, Il Lusso should remove it from the menu--period. (The table next to ours said theirs was dry as well.) Dessert: The seasonal Baked Alaska, lacked texture, it was just a mushy bite of cake, ice cream, and meringue. The salted caramel one is much better because it has a cookie base. Bottom line: Our dining experience was a major let down with the inconsistent food and poor service. We wished we'd gone somewhere else to celebrate my milestone birthday.

Really classy dining experience in Tallahassee with a creative and modern menu. I've been here 3 different times and have felt like such a queen each one of those times. I haven't had a drink or dish I haven't liked here and the ambiance really sets the scene for an elegant date or gathering. Invite someone you want to impress.
