Stopped in at Southern Smoke inside Governors Square Mall expecting a full-on BBQ joint, but it leaned more toward burgers. My brisket burger was tasty enough, yet the brisket itself was barely noticeable—felt more like a standard burger. The bigger issue: my son’s meal arrived visibly undercooked, so he stuck to his sides. Could be we caught the kitchen on an off day, because the flavors had potential. I’m giving it three stars for the decent taste of my burger and the friendly vibe, and I’ll come back another time to see if they hit the mark.

I had the 6 pc garlic Parmesan wings combo I'm only giving it 2 stars because my onion rings were really good but the wing were really big and weird tasting and the garlic Parmesan sauce was soooo salty I only took one bite and had to throw them out

Worst burger I've had since those soybean Flanders burgers in the big orange box.

Order lemon pepper wings combo. The wing sauce they put on there was so sour had to throw my whole plate away on my lunch... follow your first mind if you see you customers in the line...

When we come to Tallahassee from Bainbridge this was our go to food place until today .The pulled pork was very vinegary tasting was very disappointed . The corn bread did not taste the same either .

I’m from NJ haven’t had any great food till I found this place. I been here for 3 years, I don’t even eat out much but I been here about 3 times already this year. rich , savory, flavorful food A1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The signage and menu’s are written very deceptively indicating that sandwich combos were $11.99 for the burger combo only to find out that the burger listed under the sandwich combos was in fact $18.99. Was dry and included onions that I requested to be left off were on it. Flavor was okay on the burger but the baked beans were excellent.

First let me say how much we appreciate Tamra Tatum at Southern Smoke of Tallahassee. Hands down professional 10 on all cylinders. We were in a bind after the hurricane and needed a Caterer for our event 10 days away. Tamra was the calm in the storm. She worked to get our quote within 24 hours, meeting our timeline and budget.

On the morning of the event Tamra accommodated our guests with special dietary restrictions. Baby that salmon was on POINT!!! All of the food was amazing from the Smoked Chicken to Mac & Cheese, Fried Okra the greens all phenomenal.

Southern Smoke served our guests patiently with smiles and extra care. The food and service made our formal event even better!!! Please if you haven't already, try them out! You will not regret it!!! Watch out Tallahassee! Southern Smoke is here to stay!

They catered at a party that I recently attended. I had the chicken, ham, and mac and cheese. It was super delicious. I’m actually still eating leftovers a few days later. I know when I really like stuff when I don’t add bbq sauce. The chicken skin was perfectly crispy but the chicken wasn’t dried out and the ham (perhaps my favorite) has a really nice honey taste. Love, love, love!

The staff were also very friendly and helpful during the event. They served the food buffet style at the event.

I would definitely recommend them. I had never heard of them before so I plan to find the restaurant and have it again.

Yummy! Tasty! Succulent and Flavorful. Just attended an elegant ball in Tallahassee where they catered this private event. All the dishes were excellent and full of flavor. Smoked chicken, delicious honey baked ham, collards and old fashioned down home mac N cheese with that cheese pull was amazing! Pics speak for themselves…super dry. Look damn near microwaved. No flavor at all..very leathery. Was not impressed at all. Figured they would have a special homemade bbq sauce but instead they had you two small packs of sweet baby rays bbq. Not worth the $20+ and not to mention the rudeness of the cashier.

We ordered pulled pork. No flavor, just too spicy. The side of cole slaw was like a tablespoon and maybe a half. We waited prob 20min for the order. On a good note, my husband ordered ribs, he enjoyed them. I didn't finish mine. We're from out-of-town. Even if we ever come back to Tallahassee, we will not patronize this place.
