I eat out often and I must say Ava in SoHo is one of the best restaurants around!!! I love the people! I love the food! I love the atmosphere! You can drink and have a great conversation at the bar, you can dine in and feel fancy with your family and friends, you can even sit outside and have a pleasant night with the wine service and beautiful view of the city street, not many places come close to this amazing restaurant! You may even bump into some legends!I love service from Amanda and Jacob amazing servers hands down! ? Amanda makes the best drinks!!

Online and in person menus are very different especially in price. They will not honor any online prices. Very disappointing would have gone to a different restaurant. Don’t go here for happy hour based on the online menu.

This is a delicious Italian restaurant with all the classics, including gluten free and vegan options too. The pasta was light and fluffy and you didn't feel disgustingly full after eating it. The pizza was delicious with a slight char from the wood fired oven.The restaurant has a good energy and parking isn't too bad for South Tampa. It is a little pricey, but everything is nowadays.

Atmosphere was decent. Definitely a more college aged crowd (which isn’t horrible). Got the maple old fashion which was really good. Food was decent but lacked in the flavor department.

I had the Wood Grilled Twin Filets (4 oz.) for $44. The gnocchi was excellent, but the filets were overdone and tasted as if the surface they had been cooked on was not cleaned first. I was not the only guest at the table that was unsatisfied with the food. The presentation was beautiful, but we were all unsatisfied and will not be returning.

I had a lovely lunch here. The pizza is made in a wood-fired oven. I had a gluten free crust and it was the best gf crust I’ve had. Excellent service. Also, I forgot my to go box with half my pizza in it and came back after it had already been thrown away, so they made me a whole new pizza free of charge!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pasta and pizza crust available. GF pizza crust is delicious. Not suitable for celiac as it is made in the same pizza oven.

Service was a little less than expected. We were in a private room with one server who rarely attended us. One example is that I ask for butter with my bread. The server said I did not need butter with the bread. I explained that I would like the butter anyway. She did not bring the butter until the bread was extinguished. Disappointing ☹️

I'm sure every review will say to order the bread service. Yes! Order the bread service! Don't miss it. The rest of the meals were delicious as well. The branzini was a stand out. It is a lovely and beautiful restaurant. We dined on the patio. Thank you to our excellent waiter, I'm so sorry I can't recall his name. Top notch professional, knowledgeable and patient.
I dined at Ava over the weekend with my cousin and we had a really nice time. The inside of the restaurant is very pretty but we actually sat outside which was perfect. The patio is screened in making it feel more comfortable. Our server was so sweet and she made some great recommendations such as a blueberry cocktail that was soo good! My cousin got the shrimp scampi which is served with a really yummy bread but heads up it doesn’t come with pasta just the bread…still good though! I had the margarita pizza I loved it and I felt full with just the pizza, it’s a good size. Hope this helps if you’re looking for a good Italian place to eat! Enjoy :)

Pierre was our server, and he was fantastic! Food was tasty, & we did not feel rushed. Gave him my taste pallet for some white wine, & what he came back with was spot on. His recs for apps & accompaniments were also spot on. Pace of everything was leisurely which was perfect for a Friday night especially after a long week of travel. Thanks, Pierre!

Let me start by saying we dine at Ava frequently. But our most recent trip was disappointing at best. From the moment we walked in we felt that we were not the “desired” patron. With the restaurant virtually empty except the bar area, upon our arrival for our reservation, we were told we needed to wait to see if our table was ready. 15 minutes later, after the same hostess seated three other parties that came in after us were seated, we were finally seated by another hostess. Our server started out cold and seemingly annoyed that he got our party of 8. We had two children with us. Our meat and cheese board had spoiled meat on it causing my husband to become ill. No one ate the meat because it was not good. Our pasta was over cooked and my son's $44 steak was not cooked properly. Ordered medium rare and it came out rare. The server never check back once our food came until he asked if we wanted dessert. So there wasn't an opportunity to ask for food to be prepared as ordered. Considering we spent almost $500 for dinner we were very disappointed. Basically, everyone seemed disinterested in serving us, the food was not good and the s service mediocre, so we won't be back.
