Ava is an authentic Italian restaurant with a flair. The environment is very pretty and welcoming. We had a Caprese appetizer which was exquisite with a homemade soft cheese at the base (straciacella?) Delicious. We then had pasta dishes that had a wonderful depth of flavor. The cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe (rapini) and the pappardelle with mushrooms. So good. Service was excellent. If you are in Tampa, this place is worth a visit.

The service was just right, the menu options were very good. The pistachio espresso Martini was great. Just about the entire group wanted the Bolognese. I ordered the daily special, but will be returning to try the Bolognese. I really couldn't fault it.

A lovely experience. Three of us went for dinner Sunday evening; it was clearly a slow time there (we have been at other times that it was quite busy). Our host greeted us warmly and seated us promptly; our waiter was impeccable. All three of us ordered different things, and shared amongst ourselves; we couldn't decide which one we liked the best. The short rib ragu was outstanding; the same was true for the tagliatelle alle bolognese and the lobster special. We also ordered...
