We had a table of 6. I hosted the dinner. Drinks were good but arrived slowly... Appetizers were not very good. Calamari was not hot or crispy. It was lukewarm and mushy. The crab cakes were just OK. Dinners arrived and everyone had an dish except for me. Not a good look when the person hosting the dinner's food was forgotten. Stories changed on why I didn't get my dinner so I still don't know why it was left off - everyone kept pointing fingers at others and I really didn't care whose fault it was. My dinner finally arrived about the time everyone else was finishing up, akward!! I rushed to eat so the others didn't have to sit and watch me eat. I had heard really great things about this restaurant so it didn't live up to my expectations.
Columbia Ybor is our favorite dining venue for any occasion. Always first rate in every category.
We dined at the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City for the first time, and the entire experience was nothing short of excellent. Both the food and service exceeded our expectations. We started with the Original 1905 Salad, which was prepared table-side, a charming touch that added to the experience. The salad itself was delicious: perfectly garlicky with just the right amount of tang. Fresh, flavorful, and a great start to the meal. Next was the Original Cuban Sandwich. The bread was perfectly crisp, and the sandwich had a good amount of filling with a subtle hint of mustard that tied everything together beautifully. Simple, classic, and done right. The absolute standout of the night, however, was the Paella à la Valenciana. It was incredible! Full of rich flavor, seasoned perfectly, and the seafood was cooked just right. Every bite was delicious. Service was also exceptional. Our waitress Abby and the assistant waiter (unfortunately did not catch his name) were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and significance of the restaurant, which made the experience even more memorable. Overall, Columbia Restaurant delivered an amazing dining experience from start to finish!
We were celebrating my birthday and we arrived a couple of minutes before our reservation. Had to wait 15 minutes for our to be seated. They sat us in the “Red Room”, next to a door that people were trying to open. The server seemed distracted and impersonal. Our salads were brought to the wrong table. The server asked if we would like our bottle of wine chilled, we said yes and it was never done. The mushrooms were warm and appeared that they have been sitting for a while. It had been a while since we have dined at this location, and we will opt for something else when we are back in Tampa.
First time going and everything was great. Service, food, drinks and the flamenco show were all good.
Food quality and environment and service Excellent the server was nice polite and friendly and recommended several things. Table 372 party of 5 Server. Alfredo Q Keep Up The Good Work
Our friends and we have been fortunate enough to have found The Columbia as a meeting point to travel to just for a wonderful lunch and visit with dear friends in a wonderful atmosphere. This was the second time that Luisa was our server and she has elevated that to an art form! Attentive without being intrusive, made spot on recommendations and makes sure that every dish is as good as their stellar reputation. She definitely added to yet another great outing at The Columbia.

The menu and specials are excellent. Our server Addison was attentive, professional and knowledgeable. The branzino was delicious. The 1905 salad was outstanding!
Wonderful lunch at Columbia. Louisa was so attentive and provided an excellent experience. Garrett was so helpful in setting up a family dinner on a future date.
I met two girlfriends for lunch. We had reservations & were seated immediately. Within 1 minute, our server was offering water. We ordered different items. The dishes were brought promptly. The server came by to check if we were happy. It was perfectly prepared. We all wanted dessert, but too full to order any. Columbia's is so large, but management knows how to handle the crowds!
Columbia in Ybor is a great restaurant to visit when you are in Tampa area. Nice history and the environment is comforting. Wait staff is great and the food is very good. You have quite a few options on the menu and pricing is moderate. I've been there a couple of times and the place has a following.
Our server was great. 5 star. Food was incredible My only issue is it was a date night and I requested a more romantic table but we didnt get put in the more breath taking dining rooms. The place wasn't packed so im not sure why Our server more than made up for it. He was great.
