We stumbled upon Sparkman Wharf, with its live entertainment, food counters, and bars, while recently walking along the Tampa Riverfront. I was contemplating what to eat for lunch when my husband spied the Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream shop. Unbeknownst to us, Jeni's is a chain, but this was the first time that we had come across one of their franchises. Jeni's standard serving is two scoops, served either in a waffle cone (extra $) or cup (served with small waffle cone wedge -- for about $7. We were impressed by the creative flavors that were available, including brown butter almond brittle; salted caramel; and bramble berry crisp. There are also non-dairy flavors available. Both the regular and non-dairy ice creams were creamy and delicious; in fact, the non-dairy was just as creamy as the regular ice cream. The consistency of both was also very good, and was slow to melt. One point off only because of the price. We felt that $7 was a bit steep for the quantity received.

This place is amazing! My wife and I each got 2 different scoops in a waffle cone and the taste and texture was outstanding! Just standing outside of the shop you smell the deliciousness of the waffle cones. Can’t recommend this place enough!

They were busy but the wait was not long. You can sample flavors. The flavors I tried were perfect. Goey butter cake (cream cheese base) and Texas sheet cake (chocolate base). I knew the butter cake would be great but the chocolate flavor surprised me with how much I loved it as I am not a big chocolate fan.

Great spot in sparkman's wharf for some delish ice cream. Got the Gooey butter cake, killed it and then went back and bought another scoop. They had other good flavors but I think that was the best. Will definitely come back! Heck I went back 10 minutes later for seconds!

Overprice and Underwhelming. Got a kiddie scoop of Honey Vanilla Bean. The scoop was about the size of a donut hole. It cost me $5.10. The texture was weird. Super hard that just melted. Didn't soften. The flavor was fine. The service was quick and efficient. But it just want good ice cream.
