Mr Empanada - South Tampa

Very good local chain here in Tampa. Mr. Empanada is known for their excellent empanadas and most of their orders are takeout. The restaurant itself is somewhat dull, but still a good place to eat. The service was excellent and was very timely with our orders.

The fries were surprisingly very good! I liked the seasoning and how crunchy they are. Plus, the empanadas are even better. I really liked by Buffalo Chicken empanada and the Italian Beef and Cheese. I’d argue that all their flavors are excellent. Overall, would definitely recommend!

Always gotta stop here when I come to Tampa!! Best empanadas anywhere! I always get to the traditional beef ones I can't remember what they're called, but this time I decided to also try something different, I got the buffalo chicken one which I was definitely skeptical about but it wound up being really good. My son also decided to try a different one in addition to our normal one, and he got the broccoli chicken cheese one. He's not a big cheese fan so he was skeptical trying the new one too, but we both loved them just as much! I also always get an apple one and a guava one and ohhhhh they are so good. Can't decide which is better so we have to get both every time 😂 this time I also tried the Cuban sandwich, which was good. Maybe a 4/5.

If you live in Tampa and like empanadas then you know Mr. Empanada is the place to go. Specifically, the location on Kennedy Blvd is heads and tails above the rest. The team led by Jenn, Lisa, Nick and Tyler always deliver and make you feel like you are part of the family. They are simply the best!
