“Found this neat little place for drinks and a quick bite to eat while waiting to check into our room in the SoHo area. Great vibe and the food was fantastic! Happy Hour menu had a good selection of Tapas and drinks and was very reasonably priced. The bartenders were very personable.“

“Best venue for a private party. Fred & his superb staff provided my family with an excellent meal starting with tapas, salad and then 3 choice entree & deserts. Bar drinks/service are epic - loved the Sangria. To add to our special fiesta, they arranged "over-the-top" guitar music with a Flamenco dancer performance. Do not hesitate to patron this excellent restaurant.“

“This is one of my very favorite restaurants. Really good Cuban/Spanish food. Spanish beef stew is terrific, Cuban pork is scrumptious, roast chicken is fantastic! Yellow rice, black beans are just what you expect (ask for raw onions to put on the beans and rice). Everything I've eaten here has been very good to great. Prices are fair, staff is wonderful and very helpful, even when they are very busy. While you're eating, order sandwiches to go. I've had one or more of everything on their sandwich menu, all are very good, easily ranking with the best in Tampa.“

“We went here for our 30th wedding anniversary. It was absolute heaven! Our outstanding servers Mike and Liv were funny, caring and very attentive. They made the whole experience so memorable. The curated drinks were amazing. The food was the center piece of this fantastic dinner. From the ceviche, shrimp, seafood tower and dessert every dish was prepared perfectly. “The three of us shared fried chicken and shrimp and grits. Both entrees were good! The chicken had a good home cooked tasting batter on it l, spiced perfectly. The shrimp and grits were underwhelming. It was a good dish just not a winner in my book. I’m a huge fan of the dish! Trip’s version was kind of bland. Plain grits with all the goodies piled on top. If I went back I’d have the chicken. Sides were all good. Winner was the mixed veggies. Shared a piece of Key Lime pie and it was great. Service was prompt and courteous.“

“Best Cuban food outside of Miami. Great menu choices. I had the chicken ala parilla with tostones. It was delicious. Server was friendly and very professional. Went for lunch at about 2 pm after visiting the Tampa Zoo, which is not too far away. We were seated right away. Plenty of parking. You have a choice to sit cafeteria/stool style on the one side of the building or a sit-down table on the other. Highly recommended, very reasonably priced.“

“so it's a mixed review. we went to Celebrate a friend's Birthday. the package fee is ridiculous and not worth the price tag. is it fun yes but short and a bit unorganized and no where near $180. the food is good but priced on the higher side and limited menu so definitely check it out before going. drinks are same, overly priced for the location. its attached to the Quality Inn and a older space they are trying to pass as a high end south beach bar/club. our waitress was low energy and not very attentive although the place was not very busy when we went. the music is fun but way too loud for a restaurant environment.“

“I ordered the 3 meat and my sister ordered beef fajitas. The bell peppers in the fajitas were fresh and the meat was out of this world. My 3 meat (chicken,pork and steak) was to die for. Everything was cooked perfectly and they even had horchata! The price and service was outstanding. They even had the right music going that made you want to dance. Definitely will be coming back.“

“Was in the area i live in Sarasota but i always went to different cuban pizza places this place happened to be close to me and the reviews were beautiful so i came to El Recreo , i was pleased when I pulled up to be surrounded by beautiful green trees in this concrete jungle. My husband and i ordered, one chorizo pizza, a pepperoni pizza, a spaghetti a mango smoothie. I am always unimpressed by Cuban food in this area but…. Everything was perfect wow I will definitely be back“
