Overall it was just an okay experience.
This was my first time ever trying a Sprinkles cupcake and I just so happened to not only order it after hours, but through their vending machine of all things. For a vending setup, there was a surprisingly decent range of flavors, but I was mostly curious about the freshness. The machine itself is touchscreen: you pick your flavor, pay, and out comes your cupcake (which I think is the only thing they sell through it). Each one is pre-wrapped in a cute little box, which honestly felt like enough; The extra paper wrapper around the cupcake seemed unnecessary. The packaging is adorable, but they could definitely skip that extra layer and save some plastic.
As for the cupcake itself, it was… fine. Not amazing, not awful — just your average cupcake. The pumpkin flavor came through, but it didn’t taste particularly fresh, which I kind of expected. Overall, it’s a cute little experience if you’re already in Hyde Park and craving something sweet, because there also aren’t many other options. But I wouldn’t make a trip just for it.

I love sprinkles cupcakes! I get a box for my birthday every year; the red velvet is my favorite classic flavor! I look forward to their limited time cupcakes; they come up with some of the most delicious flavors. The S’mores cupcake is one I’d love to see on the menu year around!

special shout out to the man (I cannot remember his name I apologize) but who helped me Friday 7/11/2025 from 103am-1pm with my mom's order due to a mix up I placed the order on the wrong day, not only did he accommodate me same day, he provided extra magic to make my mom's birthday even better (btw the gluten free personalized cake was a big hit not only with the birthday girl but with my dad). thank you sprinkles team for the birthday love, the hospitality, and the best sweets. let me be clear, he did set clear expectations that the new personalized cake may not have been done by the time I needed it but he did offer back up options just in case which I truly appreciated as well.
that said this place service wise can be hit or miss, but it's usually a hit, so when it misses while disappointing, it's consistent enough for me not to write off sprinkles Tampa for good. especially when sometimes, I get a great experience like the one noted above.

My best friend and I visited for the first time to try their cupcakes, and I have to say, the manager was quite rude and had an attitude with us. We didn't feel welcome at all. You can get much better-flavored cupcakes from Publix.

I’ve been coming to this location since it opened but unfortunately things here just aren’t as they once were. Weekly visits have now turned into yearly. After lunch today I went in to get a cupcake for my son’a birthday (his request, and a yearly tradition). The person working wasn’t friendly. She didn’t speak clearly, greet us (like the used to), and seemed bothered to be there. The storm was very, very, warm with a noticeable sour smell. The floors were sticky, the seating areas and little tables very dirty and dingy. Nonetheless we ordered my son’s $5 cupcake only for it to be flopped into a paper bag and the icing now covering the bag. I asked for a box and was told they were extra (happy to pay it!) and the bags worked fine. Unfortunately the bag didn’t work fine and most of the icing was now all over the bag. The cupcake itself was dry and definitely not worth the experience.

I have been a sprinkles fanatic since they 1st opened their shop in California in 2005! Yes I was one of those that would stand in a long line and buy a dozen of these delicious gems. I then moved to Houston and would frequent the shop out there. However.... I moved to Tampa 2 years ago and have been to this location a hand full of times. Each time I tell myself, maybe it's a slow day? Because honestly, this location looks sloppy and dirty. The cupcakes are not made to perfection like I'm used to seeing. They look depressing, sloppy and messy... and honestly I was scared to order something because the cleanliness had me questioning if I'd get sick. I live on the far north end of Tampa and it's an hour drive... so I had to choose something. I came around 45 minutes before closing and they were already putting away their cupcakes. Not that they even had a bunch to choose from to begin with. The packaged cakes on their counter top looked old. I don't know how to describe it but considering the location I had high hopes for this place. The California and Houston locations really set that bar high. I gave 2 stars because despite the sub par appearance of the cupcakes and store front... the cupcakes tasted decent.
Cupcakes were very dry. Not a big selection. The German chocolate cupcake was the best one. Frosting was good, Server & service was blah.....
