It's a place you will drive by because its tucked away, I found it when shopping an oriental market on bruce be downs right next to home depot... got in my truck and saw jamaican restaurant as from the islands of Trinidad and Tobago I had to check it out.
Tried the jerk chicken and rice, when I tell you I felt like it just came out of the grill
Super fresh and flavorful also had one of the homemade beef patties and was very flaky and with a unique flavor

Wasn’t the best food but also not the worst. My only complaint is the oxtails were mostly bones with one good piece inside. We ordered 3 plates and spent over $80. Not worth $80

Ordered the lunch portion of brown stew chicken. Though the flavor was good, it was all bones. Hardly any meat! I’m sure whoever packed the plate saw they were spooning out mostly bones. SMH

Many options were crossed out from an already simple menu. However, the dishes that I got were good. Prices are reasonable.

Extremely disappointed. Called prior to going to this restaurant, and was told upon arrival that they were all out of oxtails and Jamaican beef patties at noon on a Friday. This was super frustrating as they had confirmed that they had both 20 minutes before my arrival. Not to mention the cashier had the most nonchalant demeanor. No compassion or hospitality anywhere here. I will not be back.

Terrible service! And the food was not worth it. If I could give negative stars I would. After purchasing serval items from this restaurant including their featured jerk chicken fried rice, I requested jerk sauce and was told it would be an up charge although after asking if the fried rice was made with sauce they said no. I’ll never waste my time going to this restaurant again.

Hummingbird serves great Jamaican dishes at reasonable prices. We really enjoyed the authentic flavors and were very satisfied with the portion sizes. Nothing we ordered was bland, overly salty or overcooked. I tried the barbecue, fried chicken and my wife had the curry chicken. They were both great. The place was nice and clean and the service was friendly without a long wait for our take out order to be completed. We're looking forward to going back sometime soon to try some of their other menu options.
