Mi Gordita Loca Mexican Restaurant Umatilla

I've visited this resteraunt at least 4 different times and my first time was positive, but since then, each time I visit I have had questionable experience. I'm a person who tries to give places the benefit of the doubt if it's a bit negative but I've come enough times to think this is just how it is run. The food is not bad nor is the customer service; it's not amazing or even great. I'm not saying that to be mean or ugly, it's just not exceptional to justify the prices and charges. This most recent time I visited, I was with other people eating lunch and we requested some sour cream and more lime since they served only one lime for each meal, which if you're latino, is not enough lol. Anyway, they charged me $1 for dollar coin amount of sour cream and $1.65 for 4 extra lime slices. I did not expect to be charged for requesting this, especially the sour cream. The waitress didn't even mention that I would be charged this. Most places don't charge you for ketchup so I did think that was exaggerated. Another time I went I requested to substitute a side for another side and instead they served me both and charged for both, which is fine if that's not possible and how it works there, but they didn't say we couldn't do that and just served me both; so I feel like they do little tricks like that to make more money. The worst experience wasn't even mine, it was my Dads. I suggested to my dad that he should try this resteraunt after my first positive visit, and he doesn't even order out much and he decided he did want to try their food, so I helped him order online and pick up. After he picked up his order and came home, he looked at his receipt and he saw the main older waitress that always serves (each time I've been there at least) charged herself a $20 tip. Now we're not people that don't tip waiters when we sit down to eat and are served, but we don't tip when we just pick up an order we place online and pick it up carryout. So I think she had some audacity to pay herself tip for no service she did. She even told him not to worry about checking his receipt to hide her act. So when my dad returned upset to the resteraunt and confronted her, she apologized and told him not to talk to her superiors, and he did not, but what she did was wrong, unethical and concerning enough that each time I visited since I am careful to look at my receipt. So keep an eye on you're receipt, the waitress, and ask if they charge for any little item you may ask for. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I really am going to stop visiting here if they will not be honest and ethical about they're service and prices. I don't want to have to check my receipt each time I visit to see what I might be charged for. I'm concerned that the next time I visit I will be charged for using a single paper towel.

Loved loved loved it, so sad I dont live in Florida anymore, use to stay in Leesburg and im so sad I found them during my visit in May this year the food was great and the lady in front was very kind. Will definitely visit when I come to town. 💛

Breakfast steak burrito had almost no meat. Fresa crema is just frozen strawberries literally right out of freezer with cream on top, strawberries should be soft . Not authentic.

Amazing steak tacos and very clean restaurant. The lady working was so patient and kind. You could tell the food was made with love 💗

Second time here, very positive experience, I am sick so I got our food togo. Food made fresh with great family customer service. Got food for the family with a little extra so we had leftovers. There prices are very good for the amount of food you get. Ended with amazing food and a very happy family. I recommend you try them!

Absolutely phenomenal food. I was in the Ocala area camping, stopped by & had the barbocoa queso quesadilla. will be back for sure! really enjoyed it.

Placed an online order tonight last minute for some tacos and didn’t realize they closed at 6. I called after we paid, and even though they were already closed, they kindly told me to hold on for a few minutes. About 10 minutes later, our food was ready — and it was absolutely delicious! They didn’t have to go above and beyond like that, but they did, and that’s what true customer service looks like. Huge thank you to everyone involved tonight. We will definitely be back! 🌮😍

Five. Freaking. Stars.
I won a contest on Facebook and got a huge taco tray with rice and beans to try. We were blown away at how good they were! The meat portions were reasonable and so were the onions and cilantro, very well balanced. The rice was delicious and I find that’s where it usually falls flat for me at other places along with portion sizes. We usually travel to Orlando for good Mexican but we have officially found a place closer to home. We will be back!

The corn tortillas were also really good, which says a lot because I usually don’t care for them.

Overall wonderful food, hubby picked up the meal and said the staff was very nice, and we can’t wait for a sit down meal in the near future.

Stopped in here for a quick breakfast and was not disappointed. I had the Quesataco Birria and they were delicious, did not race a picture because I devoured them. My girlfriend had the breakfast Chilaquiles and said they were amazing, she did take a picture. The staff were quick to greet and seat us and the food was hot and fast. Definitely will come back when in the area again.

I am addicted to their steak breakfast burritos and red sauce. I haven’t tried anything else yet but I’ve probably been here 20 times in the last couple of months for the breakfast burritos!!!
