First time trying this spot. Wasn’t too sure about it when we pulled up but… it exceeded my expectations! We got fried pickles, onion rings, and Cajun hushpuppies for appetizers, all was phenomenal. We ordered the catfish dinner as our meals, it was some of the best catfish I’ve had. Didn’t have a long wait for appetizers or meals, staff was very friendly, and will definitely be going back to take family!
The catfish and fries are excellent and large portions. We always have leftovers for a second meal the next day. Waitress was pleasant, but did not check back to fill drinks or bring check timely. It was not that busy.
It’s always great food and great times at Fat Willie’s. Our favorite thing here is the Pasta, Blackened Mahi Pontchartrain, cheesy grits, and the Gator bites. The Gator bites have a unique in house sauce that gives them a special taste. We are from Texas and travel to Florida a few times a year. We try to make it to Fat Willie’s as often as possible.
