A friend and I were in Guernsey for a single day. From Belgium I had been looking for a restaurant that serves a wide choice of fish, but also vegetarian dishes. I selected 'Le Nautique'. What a good choice ! Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, nicely presented, very efficient and friendly staff, more than fair prices. We recommend this restaurant without any hesitation.
We had read about le Nautique so booked a table for lunch while on Guernsey for a few days. The starter of oysters 3 ways went down very well then we both chose the light lunch option which has a small glass of wine included. Scallops with orange and fennel salad was excellent, as was the half lobster with salad. All dishes were well presented and the ingredients were really fresh. The waiting team were efficient and friendly and a quick visit from the chef patron before we left was welcome - it’s very evident he truly enjoys what he does, The restaurant overlooks the harbour.
We were welcomed warmly and our jackets were taken. We had a window table and the view was superb. The staff were friendly and attentive and added to a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and there was a wide choice.
Firstly, we have had lunch and dinner here. The team was happy to make a table available for us on a Saturday night without a booking. We wanted to arrange lunch to suit us and they offered to call when our preferred slot became available. You could say that was in their best interest but they are popular so didn't have to do this. Despite what other people have said about price (it is expensive) it is not hidden so do your homework. Go on Tripadvisor!! One important factor for us - my husband's dietary requirements. They responded to his request for a change to his choices. The chef came out to check if it was alright for him.
A superb chef/owner restaurant. Fabulous views out the windows on either floor. Food so good. Hors douvres starter is a sample of ten starters. Be hungry. Fish is locally caught. And the steaks are very good. Gayan’s French coffee is the best. Book in advance.
Beautiful views of the port but the food is why you go here. Wonderful crab cocktail and fantastic lobster salad - enough for 2. Oysters are on the small size but wonderful. Beautiful food presentation. Very friendly service. Nice wine selections by the glass.
We were staying in the town for only a week, but we came here twice. The first draw was the Herm oysters. In the second visit I had a dozen - greedy, I know, but they are small and delicious. While in Herm we met the man who harvests them. The waters are so clean they are of very good quality. Apart from them the lobsters and scallops are also well worth having. Service is excellent, and this is a top-notch restaurant for dinner.
We decided to make Le Nautique our Friday night treat for our week on Guernsey and were not disappointed! We started with a couple of Old Fashioneds before our starters arrived - a trio of salmon - gravalax, smoked salmon and cooked salmon and I had a variation of Guernsey crab - fresh crab, crab mousse and crab cake - all were flawless! For mains my wife opted for monkfish, dauphinois potatoes, broccoli - I went for monkfish with mango salsa, medium rare beef steak medallion on potato rosti, asparagus wrapped in bacon, roasted cherry tomatoes with a side of courgette frites and a mild peppercorn sauce! (See attached picture!) Everything was absolutely perfect and left no room for dessert! Not the cheapest meal we’ve had on the island but worth every penny!!
Avoid the lower eating area. While there is a nice view, only a tiny window opens and there is no fan or air con. The service is swift but charmless and food was edible but not much more. The wine price mark up is greedy.

I dined here as part of a group of 15. We did have to give advance orders, but the advantage of this was that we got excellent service. The food was really delicious and the dishes were quite creative.
Need to update address on google and better customer service called several times to get correct location someone answered and hung up then they just stop answering….

We have been visiting Guernsey for over 40 years & said that when we had a special occasion to celebrate, we would visit Le Nautique. My niece’s 21, this year, along with it being my sister’s Silver Wedding & my mum’s 80th - how more special could it be. So we booked & have been looking forward to it. Perhaps that was the problem & it just could never live up to expectations. We waited over an hour & a quarter for our food, which, whilst a long time, you don’t mind if the food is excellent when it arrives, but it wasn’t. 4 of us ordered the Chateaubriand at £62 for 2, the fillet was tough & only lukewarm. The Saltimbocca tasteless & all in all just not great. I must stress, the waiting staff were impeccable & couldn’t do enough to help & apologise but it just didn’t live up to expectations & the great reviews we had read. So we won’t be returning & unfortunately will not recommend to friends either.
We stayed at The Old Government House. We ate out a few times and this was by far the best experience of our holiday. Great food and service. Crab gratin was spot on as were the fish dishes and lobster etc.. Staff are right on, v well organised it and v helpful with seating, recommendations, messages etc. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant, a lovely experience.
Excellent service, brilliant fish and seafood food. Chef's dessert platter was ideal to share. Table for 2 in middle of restaurant wasn't great but the lesson is to book early.
