Great small artsy cinema. Love the unusual films!
Cine is usually a great place to see a movie in an intimate, laid back setting. I would be careful about choosing a showing time in which there's also music in The Lab though. We recently went to see Weapons on the same evening Dub Bonanza Block Party was happening in The Lab and the music was very disruptive to the movie.
The vibe is usually chill and the prices are great, so I do recommend Cine overall - hopefully the sound folks in The Lab can work out volume levels that don't interrupt the movie-goers' experience.
Wonderful little art house theater in downtown Athens. Great place to see indie films and limited releases. Consistent quality films showing. Sometimes, including discussion panels or filmmaker Q&A.
incredible charismatic intimate historic theatre. the bar is reasonable, staff are all obviously committed and the environment is so comfortable. support local nonprofits!
My son's band, Kaimera, got the opportunity to host a show at Ciné on 5/31/25. While I wasn't there for the movie theater experience, it seems like a great place to watch movies and hang out in the Cafe area. The room where the bands were playing was a great size and had seating and tables to place drinks/food. The stage was large enough for the bands to comfortably move around and play their instruments. Staff members were very friendly! It's so refreshing to have a venue that is willing to give a young band an opportunity to get their name out there. My son said he and Kaimera would love to do more shows there if given the opportunity!
Great sound. Great film selections. Excellent cocktails. Lab is a terrific music space.
The staff was friendly and the place was nice, but my experience kind of sucked. I had to ask somebody to clean up the spilled soda all over my seats, but the bartender was nice and cleaned it up herself. But there was no lighting to move around and find your stuff, so you have to shine you phone in peoples faces. And we paid to see a 3 episode premier and they only played 2. It took 15 minutes for us to find somebody, half the theater was walking around looking and standing at the counter in the lobby. But somebody finally came out and was friendly and gave us refunds after somebody asked. Maybe it was a bad night, but I would go somewhere else especially for a date night
It’s the best theater in Athens, which isn’t saying a lot. The bathroom is clean and modern, seats are comfortable and heat up. Or they usually do. I sat in the max relax and the heating didn’t work on any of them. There’s also always popcorn in the wedges and sticky drink residue on the armrests and Ont he underside if you flip them over. Considering how slow it gets during the daytime/week surely someone can go around and clean the seats. Food is also pretty bad. But it is still the best theater in Athens.
I had a horrible experience at this theater. I was given tickets when I first arrived to see my movie for the wrong show time. I asked since the movie Iinitially paid to see at a certain time, if I could just swap the tickets for the following day, since when I arrived the movie had already started. The manager gave me tickets to see it the following day. I came back with my step son who is 13 just to be told I still couldn't see the movie because my step son was under 18. Eventhough the website age policy states anyone under the age 18 must be ACCOMPANIED BY A GUARDIAN 21 years or older. After telling the employee my tickets were approved by their manager. The guy finally just let me and my family use our tickets to see the movie, but he had to reprint them. After he reprinted my tickets we were given tickets to seats that I didn't want to sit. My family and I just made the best of it. But horrible experience.
An old fashioned movie theater at Athens downtown. I liked it.

Clean, polite staff.
Although you can no longer order from your chair in the theater, the food we ordered at the counter was ready quickly and was tasty. The seats are very comfortable and recline and have adjustable lumbar heating. I wish the cocktails weren't so expensive. Policeman on site made us feel secure.
Fun place to take a kid to the movies. Had a playground in the theater.
Had reserved tickets for my children for the opening of the Wild Robot. There were zero notifications on Google about it being closed. Everything else in town was open. Have you ever taken children to a movie they have been waiting to see for months only to disappoint them? Not fun. I was given 3 tickets for another time, but they are not reserved. I cannot call the theater as they only have automated systems. Why couldn’t they notify advanced ticket holders they were closed? Other closed businesses had updated Google so when you enter directions Google would notify you the business was closed. I understand the situation with the weather, but the notification they were closed was not acceptable.
We did return the following day and found great seats. The theater is overall great, I just didn’t appreciate the lack of notification they were closed.
Cozy seats, great food, and great prices
