Best Italian in Athens. There are a couple of newer, trendy Italian restaurants, but you will get better food here. This is from a guy with an Italian grandmother who knows how Italian food is supposed to taste.
We have been to Osteria Athena several times over the years and it is always a wonderful experience. They have beautiful views through big windows onto Broad Street and campus and we live the cozy atmosphere. The food is classic Italian and always delicious. The prices are very reasonable too! Highly recommend the meatball appetizer, the lasagna, and the limoncello mule!
Service was wonderful! Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The owner, Drew, was so friendly, taking time to chat with us and ensure we were enjoying ourselves. The bartender, Sammy, was extremely attentive, checking in on us often to make sure everything was perfect. And the food was absolutely delicious (and beautifully presented). Highly highly recommend!!
Our favorite spot in Athens. Never absurdly busy, and the food is always excellent.
In Athens for a day to visit U of Georgia. Found this place for dinner and the food was excellent. From the warm bread with olive oil, our appetizers and meals were all excellent and the server was friendly and a college student who offered to give us information about the school. We all easily found something we liked but for some the menu might be limiting.
Friendly and knowledgeable server. An absoiute delight.
Food was spot on top notch high end Italian and the Negroni was magnificent.
Went for my girlfriends birthday, very very good food! Our server was named casey I believe and she did an amazing job. Came to check on us in a timely manner. Very polite and wished my girlfriend a happy birthday multiple times. Casey Rocks!
I had a fantastic experience at Osteria. I came in late for dinner after a long day of work, about 8:30. I was received with surprising empathy and sympathy. Bianca let us know the kitchen was closing in a lovely way and hosted us very well. The food was great. Shoutout out for the Caprese salad. I’m glad I decided to check it out. I definitely recommend Osteria and will return when I return to Arhens.

This is my husband and I’s favorite Italian restaurant in Athens and it’s the perfect spot for a date night. Everything is always amazing whether it’s the drinks, the apps (bruschetta is fantastic), the pasta, or the cheesecake (yummmmm!). It’s an intimate spot and it’s a little hole in the wall treasure due to it being hidden from the street. I always recommend this restaurant when people are looking for great food and a great atmosphere.

Overall, I like the place, I will be back and I do recommend it. The place is charming and clean, but can get a bit noisy on a Friday night for dinner.
Drinks:
Where superb and helped get the vibe going. We had a couple of Negronis and Osteria Athena’s as well as an Expresso Martini to complement dessert later on.
Food:
For the Antipasti - we shared the Carpaccio di Manzo as well as the Antipasto di Polpette and they were both really good. Highly recommend them both.
For our Secondi - I ordered the Pollo al Marsala and it was delicious and very well accompanied by some delicious sides (although the chicken breast was very small). My son ordered the Pollo allá Francese and the chicken breast was also very small, but I have to say we found both the chicken and the pasta to be very dry.
For our Dolci of choice we shared the Affogato and it was good, but very uneventful and nothing to really be impressed about. The write up had us very excited only to be disappointed with an underwhelming choice that left us wanting for something different.

Fantastic food, great service! Great atmosphere
We loved atmosphere and the service was really good but the food was just not. We wanted to love it so we tried a second time with different menu items and those too were not good. The Gramings con Salccia had so much sage it was inedible. The second time we tried the margarita pizza and it was bland with a sweet honey taste. The spaghetti was pretty good. Sadly disappointed and won’t be back.

Had the best time with a great group of people. The food was amazing. The best Italian I’ve ever eaten. The owner was extremely hospitable too. The whole staff made us feel like family. Definitely a must go to anytime you’re in Athens! I’ll be back for sure!
Best Italian food in Athens by a country mile. They'd give some Sicilian grandmother a run for her money. Cross my heart and hope to die best meal in my 5 years in Athens. Beautiful atmosphere, service was great, owner was super nice but Holy Mother of Jesus I've never eaten this good. I'd put a picture of the food but it was gone quicker than a lady on Maury. Sadly 50 stars isn't an option. *chef's kiss*
