An epic place full of life and college fans of Georgia University and food on another level. If you go to Statham, visiting them will excite you.
Kid-friendliness: They have like a brutal little park for the kids.
Wheelchair accessibility: I am in a wheelchair and the access is very good

Amazing outdoor bar space! Family-friendly, great drink specials, and bar food is so so good! We had a large party here with our friends and family with a band and everyone thought it was a great time!! Best outdoor space in Athens.

I attended their Crawfish Festival today. From the day I bought my ticket to spending the day with them today Chris and his staff did an excellent job. I felt like family amongst them. You could tell that all staff really enjoyed what they were doing today. I will be back sometime soon to try the BBQ.
The moment we pulled up, we were greeted by the owner and it only got better from there! The inside staff was amazing and the food was just as good!! I highly recommend!
we ordered sliced briket and pulled pork sandwich with baked potato baked beans green beans, mac n cheese, with peach cobbler. absolutely delicious!!
As many times as I have been to Athens over the years, including countless drives down Broad Street, I had never noticed this place before today. My husband slammed on the breaks and we pulled in with some friends for a late lunch on a UGA football game day. The place was busy, but not packed. We opted not to dine in and got carry out instead as all of the seating in their outdoor beer garden was taken. The brisket was excellent and the pulled pork tasty (although a tad dry), but hubby was a little disappointed ribs were spare ribs, not baby back and a little tough with the membrane still on. They offer a wide variety of sides. We found the green beans bland, but the mac and cheese very good. Service was excellent. Hubby said he'd go back again, but would not order the ribs. Overall, good BBQ meal and really hit the spot on a football Saturday.
It's okay, but very empty.

This is one of my favorite BBQ restaurants, and the best I've found in the area. The food is consistently good, there are a ton of sauce options, and I honestly like that I can just help myself to more drink or sauces when I feel like. I'm confused by claims that it is really expensive -- food is expensive, and Saucehouse is far from the most expensive BBQ place I've been to. Plus, you get a ton of food. I've taken several different family members here when they come to visit and everyone always raves about it. I'm pretty sure the only reason one of my brothers visits me is just so I'll take him back to Saucehouse.
Not your typical local BBQ place. Large footprint for the store, plus a separate bar building that is under one roof and connected by decking. This is cafeteria style. Their big thing is all the different kind of sauces they offer. They also have urns of tea with different levels of sweet plus unsweetened. Our brisket and pulled pork were very good and the sides are solid. You can get in and out pretty quick. Parking is a bit of an issue.
We were in Athens for a football weekend and went to Saucehouse for dinner. We had so much more than that. Football games on TV, great bar drink options, friendly staff. Conversation flows at that place in the patio area or indoor dining. Our party had the barbecue pork plate, the barbecue chicken plate, and the tofu with a baked potato as a vegetarian option. Everyone felt the food amounts were plentiful. The ice machine is the best ice too with the small round crunchable ice. We enjoyed the selection of top country songs as well. A casual place to meet up with friends and family.
Met some friends there for a late lunch and I got the sliced brisket plate. The brisket was not sliced, the guy had to get it out of a bowl of sauce with tongs and it had little flavor. Beans and potato salad were average but the overall impression was that of a college bar that attempts to serve barbecue.
