Ideal Bagel is a restaurant in Athens. The bagels are perfectly soft, yet satisfyingly chewy — each one bursting with flavor. Every bite feels fresh and crafted with care. The sandwiches are that good; the Reuben is way better than expected, and the portion is gigantic. The food is absolutely delicious. The spread of shmear options is impressive — classic, creative, and all delicious. The coffee is delicious, and the beans are good. The inside is a bit industrial looking, but the staff are very friendly and patient. Everyone is incredibly nice and patient. The line usually moves pretty quickly. The vibe is cool and special. There is a little typewriter set out where locals leave sweet, funny, and thoughtful messages. Ideal Bagels is everything and an absolute must near Athens.
