The food was terrible, you walk in thinking it's an actual restaurant but it's the saddest assembly line just like high school lunch. The food was soggy, flavorless, and looked like dog food. Gordon Ramsey needs to come here and fix this. The only reason why it's in business is bc frat kids come here after drinking.

They were out of bone in wings. i went there strictly for bone in wings because they were 6 for 6 dollars. however they informed me they were out and offered me boneless wings instead which i said okay that's fine. then when i got to the register to pay they tried to charge me the normal price but why is it my fault YALL ran out of the bone in sale wings. so i said that and he didn't care at all and rang me up full priced. i wouldn't of paid but i was starving. then it took 25 minutes for the boneless wings to come out. i went in at 15 mins and said "hey do u know how much longer by chance i ordered like 15 mins ago and no one ever told me how long it would take. " mind yall i was very nice i could've gone full karen but didnt. then they said "uh yea there cooking five more minutes" yet the girl didnt even walk away to go and look and actually see. So i went back and sat down. By the time i got said wings (10 mins after i went in) they were cold. cold. i thought they were cooking? anyways on top of all of this no one was kind they all didn't care or anything. i would also like to state i tipped. i'm not sure why at this point but i did.

I met a colleague here for lunch yesterday and neither of us was very impressed. The employees were friendly and service was quick. The price was basically in line with most other barbeque places. The food wasn't impressive. I got pulled pork, which was flavorless without some kind of sauce. There are plenty of sauces offered, but the few that I tried weren't much better than what can be purchased at a store. The mac & cheese and Brunswick stew that I had as sides weren't especially good. The mac & cheese was bland and the cheese was rubbery. The stew was oddly sweet. As I told my colleague, it was so sweet that it could have been eaten as a dessert. The music in the restaurant was incredibly loud, as well, which made having a conversation difficult. Maybe we caught Saucehouse on a bad day, but neither my colleague nor I were inclined to visit again.

It's an average barbecue place. I've never gone to the Bar side of the restaurant but I like that they split the restaurant away from the bar for a more family friendly experience or a good time for drinks with friends. The service is always quick as you tell them the plate you want and then pick your meat and sides down the line.

So, so good. Best bbq in Athens in my humble opinion. If you can impress my dad, you've really got something special. From salads to sandwiches to limitless sauces, this place is great for a chill lunch and an afternoon hangout. I can't forget to mention how kind and welcoming the staff were too! Definitely recommend you check this place out.

Great bbq and sides. Definitely higher quality than your average BBQ joint. The bread pudding is probably my favorite dessert. Possibly the best part about this place is their two sauce bars. They have pretty much every BBQ sauce you can think of. They serve beer and other beverages in the restaurant. You order in a line and take your food to your table. They have a large outside patio and courtyard with cornhole, a bar in a small separate building, and an event venue where I've attended a wedding party. I'd recommend this place all around. I love taking my family here or coming here with friends to have great BBQ and some drinks.

The moment we pulled up, we were greeted by the owner and it only got better from there! The inside staff was amazing and the food was just as good!! I highly recommend!

I walked in with relatively high expectations from hearing a lot of good reviews. The restaurant itself was slow, not sure why, but heard it gets busy around 7 because of Wednesday trivia nights. Since it was slow, there wasn't a line so that meant I got my food right away. You order and get your food, and then pay at the end of the line. I ordered a BBQ plate with 1/4 lbs of brisket, 2 hawaiian rolls, mac and cheese, and cole slaw with a fountain drink. The total was a little less than $20, which seems fairly reasonable. They have counters with different types of BBQ sauces, and out of the like the 20 types, I got the hot and sweet sauce (it's pretty spicy so get it on the side). Personally, I like my cole slaw with a bit more horseradish, so when I tried theirs it wasn't as good since it was more towards the sweet side. The mac and cheese looks good, but tasted like any other mac and cheese. Now, the brisket also looks good, but lacked seasoning. Sure there was sauce, but it also got cold fast. For $20, I could've gotten more brisket somewhere else and with better quality. Overall, maybe I would come back here for something else or for trivia night, but not for the food.

Driving thru Athens to Florida and Google led us here! What a superb choice! Great brisket and pulled pork with so many sauce selections. If you're into NC vinegar based sauces, theirs are great! Being newcomers, the FOH manager was so kind to made sure we were familiar with their menu selections, topping options, sides and desserts. Do not pass on the peach cobbler!

My boyfriend and I came to Saucehouse before the game and I really enjoyed it. There was free parking in their lot and still spaces even with game day. There were so much staff working so the line moves quick! In fact, we didn't wait at all before being helped. There were a lot of people in the dining area. I ordered the pulled pork on the regular bun and boy did they give me so much meat!! My boyfriend got the brisket with the hawaiian rolls and it was noticeable less meat, but he enjoyed it as well! The fries were deliciously seasoned and so crisp! The fried okra was hot with a light and crispy breading. Saucehouse definitely has the sauces and I tried a few and enjoyed them all dipping my sandwich to try each. A great meal before game day and reasonably priced for bbq!

As many times as I have been to Athens over the years, including countless drives down Broad Street, I had never noticed this place before today. My husband slammed on the breaks and we pulled in with some friends for a late lunch on a UGA football game day. The place was busy, but not packed. We opted not to dine in and got carry out instead as all of the seating in their outdoor beer garden was taken. The brisket was excellent and the pulled pork tasty (although a tad dry), but hubby was a little disappointed ribs were spare ribs, not baby back and a little tough with the membrane still on. They offer a wide variety of sides. We found the green beans bland, but the mac and cheese very good. Service was excellent. Hubby said he'd go back again, but would not order the ribs. Overall, good BBQ meal and really hit the spot on a football Saturday.

I would give a 1 1/2 star but I was talked into a 2 star. The ribs at Golden Corral are better on rib night. They were terrible. I ordered brisket as well, but never got it. My buddy did have a pork and brisket plate. He said he wouldn't come back. The only thing worse than this place is the GA football schedule this year.

Easily my favorite bbq joint in Athens. Great food, awesome service, very reasonable prices. I'll b back again soon, and often. I also really enjoy the bar, as well as the family friendly seating outside on the deck. BBQ Plate is amazing. Brunswick Stew is too. What more could one want from their fave bbq joint?
