The atmosphere in the food were very good. The one thing that stands out was the young lady who served us. Her attention to us and suggestions were some of the best I've ever had. I wish I could remember her name, but it was probably the best service I had all week in Atlanta for the IPPE conference, and one of the best I've ever had in all of my dining experiences.
The location was good; the service and atmosphere were okay and the food / drinks were “Ehhh” (okay)
Great experience. Helped accommodate change in my reservation during a super busy time...above and beyond in service. Really appreciate it!
GREAT EVENING AT ALMA COCINA Food is top notch - genuine and subtle Latin American flavors and not the usual commercial Mexican dishes full of cheese and sauces This is REAL cuisine, full of taste and creativity - Never disappoints Room was quiet enough for good business discussion
We came to Alma's for business lunch. We both ordered the pozole which was delicious. The pork was tender and especially with the hominy. The appetizers are always delicious. Service is always on point. We like coming for lunch with clients.
Janelle is the best server at any restaurant I've ever been to. We request her section every time we visit Atlanta.
I are here 2 years ago and the food was not good. So glad I gave it another chance this year. Food was excellent!
Always love visiting Alma Cocina when we are in Atlanta. One of our favorites- absolutely recommend the fried cheese!
Our server was excellent. The grilled sweet potatoes unique and delicious, slightly spicy. The pork pastor tacos and pork conchinitas is always our fave. If you have a large group, get the esquites. Hard to finish for 3-4 people. Wish it came smaller amounts. We sat in the courtyard this time which we liked as inside the the booths can be dark and require a light for the menus! We go here every time we come to Atlanta (twice a year). Highly recommend!
Enjoyed the entire dining experience. I would encourage a reservation. We were seated promptly and our server addressed us shortly after being seated. She checked on us several times throughout our dining experience. We ordered the traditional guacamole and tomatillo salsa for starters. Both were freshly made and delicious. Ordered a classic margarita which is not made with a mix, so if you're looking for something sweet you may need them to add something to it. Tajin on the rim gave it that just right sweet to sour ratio. Our order consisted of chicken tinga tacos and the vegetable quesadilla bit which were very good. The menu is not massive but I think that's what helps things taste awesome. If you're in town or a local looking for a new spot give it a try. Tip- the salsa is refillable in case you want more

We had an AMAZING dinner at Alma Cocina in downtown Atlanta. Started with the Guacamole & Salsa taster plate… a MUST HAVE! They come with fresh crispy corn tortillas that were delicious. We both had tacos (spicy shrimp for me and Korean beef for my husband) and there was tons food and great flavours! Highly recommend the blood orange margarita!! We will be back when we return to ATL
I stopped by here for lunch as it was in close proximity to my hotel and I needed something that was relatively quick. I ordered the guacamole single and the chicken tinga verde tacos. The guacamole was solid and tasted fairly fresh but was underseasoned. I also felt that normal tortilla chips would've paired better than the tostadas that were offered. The tacos were quite solid themselves, the chicken was cooked nicely and retained sufficient moisture to not be dry and the accompaniments of pico de gallo, queso fresco, and crema melded well. However, the tortilla did not hold up very well and ripped easily due to the moisture of the main ingredients. The side items of rice and beans were both mediocre. The rice itself was unseasoned with barely any flavor and the beans also lacked salt. Service was actually quite good and also extremely efficient: the whole service was done within 35 minutes of my arrival. It isn't a particularly cheap meal, but if speed is of the essence this is a fine stop, otherwise it leaves a bit to be desired in the department of food quality.
We had a wonderful experience at Alma Cocina in Atlanta. From the start, we were seated at a cozy booth that gave us a lovely elevated view of the dining area. The drinks were definitely on point, especially the margaritas, which were a perfect start to the meal. While the service took a little longer than expected to bring out the food, we were in no rush and enjoyed our time chatting, so it wasn't a big deal. When the food arrived, it was absolutely delicious. I ordered their roasted half chicken mole, which came with mashed plantains and grilled green beans, and it was fantastic. We also tried a charred corn salad and ended the meal with churros served with warm chocolate and caramel sauce. Everything was exceptional, and I'd definitely recommend Alma Cocina for anyone visiting Atlanta. We'll be back for sure!
Perfection! The food was outstanding, thoughtful and surprising. The portions are definitely large and shareable. We also ordered three desserts. All three were awesome. We got the churro, the guava cheesecake, and the pineapple with homemade gelato. The fried fish, beef tacos, and the plantains. Yum! 100% out of this world to die for. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive, great service and care from the hostesses.
Have eaten here a number of times when in town for business. Many tables in main area were emply but they were telling people there would be an hour wait. We had reservations so we got seated immediately. Waitress took our drink order and we ordered the salsa trio appetized. It took 20 minutes to get the appetizer. Another waitress refilled our drinks. Entrees were ok, not really hot but tasty enough. Felt like the service and food was not up to par with previous visits. When we left, the tables in the main area were still empty.
