Always a pleasure coming to Boxcar between the food, atmosphere, and staff it makes for a pleasant experience.

I had the braised beef short ribs that came with mashed potatoes and collard greens. The meat was super fork pull apart tender, mashed potatoes well seasoned, and collard greens like somebody’s Grandma was making them in the kitchen.

My wife and I also had the collard greens cheese dip and the Kung Pao Brussel sprout for an appetizer. Both appetizers were delicious and more than enough for 2-3 people.

If ever at the West End, going out for a date night, or looking for a place to grab a meal and chill before taking a short walk on the beltline please checkout Boxcar they won’t let you down.

I just stopped by to see if they had any MBC ….they did…and my son wanted a new keg for his house…yes that too…and we decided to sit at the bar and sample a few plus have some Jamaican style wings. So most places you try a sample and since they didn’t have a west coast style IPA on the menu I was nonplussed over 2 samples I tried. The bar attendant just asked, okay, what do you like? I told her and she found an obscure beer that I would not have even tried. Top notch! I picked up some Alesmith on my way out. I love Hop City West End and their staff are awesome.

The food was delicious. We did lunch by ordering a bunch of apps: Caprice avocado, chicken sliders, salmon dip, and bang bang shrimp. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and kind. The music, while a very good playlist, was loud (especially for an afternoon).

4.5/5 I will miss having this Boxcar in my neighborhood and wish the best for its future. Staff were always very friendly, but sometimes clearly spread thin. The food was always excellent, and I love how some dishes rotated seasonally and the happy hour specials would change as well. The atmosphere is pleasant but sometimes disruptive to conversation due to how loud it can be when busy as well. Most of the time, however, I received excellent service and was able to enjoy conversation along with a unique cocktail or beer.

Came here to say Kenan was a phenomenal server. He was witty, had great suggestions, and went above & beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He made this experience a 10/10 (but the amazing food and drinks helped too). We loved our time at Boxcar! Thank you Kenan and everybody else on shift last Sunday.

Josh bartender is the best!! Food is amazing

Let me set the scene…summer day, Georgia, extremely sunny, beyond hot (fish grease). Looking for shelter & libations!

Who will answer the bell? What service industry professional will ring the bell?

Answer: Box Car, Josh!

Libations first! Why? It’s hot and food prep takes time some time!

Scan menu (I’m a summer Gin drinker), so I spot the Lavender Serenade! Presentation, awesome (a layered cocktail. Josh says, “ stir to incorporate, otherwise your 1st sip will be all lavender.” I follow instructions! Josh is on point as I conjure my spirit of “Wicked” and drop a tornado into my Collin’s glass like it was Kansas. Hold on Toto (taste buds). We are off to see the Wiz! “No bad news!

Inspired by the mastery of cocktail, I decide to expand to another herb-based cocktail, the Strawberry Basil Bliss (menu suggests vodka or bourbon). Nope, Gin is the summer spirit! “ Josh, may I call an audible? Don’t hesitate, trust my choice and your skills.” - Nirvana!

The food was AMAZING TODAY! I hadn't been to eat at the establishment due to the menu change. However, the server Josh recommended the Mango, Tomato, Basil Bruschetta. It was a great choice! I will definitely start coming back weekly to eat!

Great atmosphere on the belt line!

BAILEY is hands down the best server! We came with a party of 30 and he handled our large group with ease! Everything was correct and on time.
