I’ve been here a few times and everything I’ve ordered has been delicious. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the food is great! I especially like the esquite appetizer and the chilaquiles at brunch.

I’m staying with friends at the Arya and came down for a quick bite. The food and cocktails are awesome—ask for Carmen at the bar and try the Mezcal Old Fashioned. 5 Stars

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is spectacular and the bar tender Carmen is very welcoming. A 10 out of 10 experience!

I’m not one to leave a bad review, but this experience was truly disappointing.
We visited this restaurant after being recommended by Ancestral Bottle Shop + Market, expecting a great experience at Para Negra. Unfortunately, it did not meet expectations.
Upon arrival, we were seated and given a shot of mezcal. When we asked for clarification, their response was dismissive, stating, “it’s what I told you,” even though they had only explained it to one person in our group.
We also had some issues with the menu and attempted to speak with a manager. The first manager we approached seemed uninterested and spent most of the time focused on another table, where he remained for nearly our entire visit. At one point, he looked over at our table but made no effort to come speak with us or assist. He did not inform us that he was not the manager on duty or offer to get the appropriate manager. Instead, he ignored us and walked away, and we ultimately had to go find him ourselves to try and get assistance.
A second manager later came over and explained that the first was only a weekday manager and that he was in charge for the weekend. However, this manager was no more helpful—he repeatedly revisited the same issues without offering any resolution and dismissed our concerns about the prior interaction.
Overall, neither manager demonstrated genuine concern for our experience. Instead, they appeared more focused on engaging with a different table, leaving us feeling ignored. What was meant to be an enjoyable dinner with family and friends turned into a frustrating experience. It was disappointing to feel that service and attention were given selectively rather than equally to all guests.
As Hispanics, it felt especially disappointing and disheartening to be treated this way at a Hispanic restaurant by staff within the same community.
Based on this experience, we would not return—especially given how highly Ancestral Bottle Shop + Market spoke about Para Negra, which made this experience even more disappointing.

Loved it! Food was great and only matched by its great tequila selection! If you love great Mexican food and/or Tequila I’d imagine you’d be hard pressed to find a spot that has better in Atlanta.

Had a genuinely good night. My husband and I came for dinner. The restaurant had a tasting event this night but our server was extremely attentive and contiguously checked in on us. Another server was going around as well, and refilling water. The atmosphere was great. I love the dim lighting, it gives a sense of privacy and depth to your night. It was lovely and we look forward to coming back!

The food is very delicious---not your run of the mill Mexican. Flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The restaurant is beautiful--has a moody, sexy vibe. The cocktails were delicous! I would definiately return.

Order #21098 – Table 62 – Server: Kelly I'm not sure if it was due to Valentine's Day, but the restaurant had many tables placed very close to each other, which made the space feel crowded and uncomfortable. Our food took approximately 40 minutes to arrive. The guacamole, salsa, and chips were brought out quickly, and I do appreciate that they offer free refills. However, our server forgot to bring our ceviche order entirely. The enmoladas were a bit too sweet for my taste, and I was also disappointed that there were no IPA options available. At the end of the meal, it took quite a while for our server to return with the check. I had to call her over to request it. She said she could take the payment at the table, took my card, and processed the charge without showing me the receipt. She left the machine for me to add a tip but did not inform me that gratuity had already been included. I only realized this later when I received the receipt by email. Overall, I left feeling very disappointed with the experience.

We had dinner here for Valentines. We've been here before, but this time it was just the menu wasn't as great limited options and just too close together we had a couple on the right side of our table that was just arguing and arguing and arguing the table to the left of us same thing they were absolutely annoyed with a couple that were on the other side of us for the price of the food wasn't top-tier to me. The food was just very bland. Our waiter was great, but not too well of an experience.

Nice restaurant but initially when we got there because it was Valentine's Day, they would not put us with our friends who were another couple. I explained that in advance of showing up, but they didn't get it correct so we didn't start off on the right foot. Food was very good but service was slow, particularly with the drinks. It took 15 to 20 minutes to get each drink, which is ridiculous. I chalked that up a little bit to it being a busy day, but it did leave me with an experience that I'd say was decent but not great and I probably would not return again.
