Recently visited this location (2 weeks ago) while in town, traveling from Houston TX. My family and I were excited from the time we left TX until we actually walked in P.O.C. They had never been, but I used to frequent this location FAITHFULLY when I worked at the High Museum. I’d always rave about wonderful customer service and the homemade taste, with the Caramel Cake being my favorite! After having moved to TX, I’d even inquired about having cakes shipped to me but the shipping costs were astronomical. So, I made sure when we were in town we’d stop by for goodies. We bought several slices and several cupcakes. Everything was stale and crumbly. My family was like “you raved on and on about THIS?” We weren’t greeted when we came in and even when we said we were visiting from Houston, all we got were blank gazes…:::crickets:::. I was quite disappointed and felt awful for wasting my family’s time. I’ve read the recent reviews and it seems like things have gone down recently. Quite disheartening. This particular location used to be the BEST in town, hands down. Now? Not so much. Too bad.Parking: Limited parking

In one word, Stale. I got 3 types of cakes and they not only all tasted the same they tasted like stale, days old cakes from the grocery store. They all went into the garbage. They were crumbly, the frosting was disgustingly thick and low quality sugar was the only distinguishable flavor. Also ordered the 5 layer bar and the same story-tasted like old margarine/butter and rock hard. This was my second try the first was last year when my family got my birthday cake from here and it was similarly lacking in freshness and flavor.

I buy cakes or cupcakes for my loved ones at this location every other month. I have NEVER experienced the rudest customer service from an employee until today. The woman with the dreads asked me if I could walk out and move my car and come back in because I was parked in the driveway although I had an order ready. I asked her if I could simply grab my order and leave bc it was ready and she spent more time trying to argue with me and telling me how annoying it is for customers to do than it would’ve taken for me to run in and get my order and leave. Her attitude and tone was extremely rude and condescending and I will not be supporting this location again. BEWARE!EDIT: NOT ONLY WERE THEY RUDE BUT THEY ALSO GAVE ME THE WRONG CUPCAKES and said they will NOT be able to issue me a refund but would give me a “cake credit”. Absolutely ridiculous!

we received a cake as a gift. Our friend out in his order in December and it arrived in January. I am not surprised the order got lost. When cake finally arrived it was damaged, dry and old. I called customer service the very day we received it and they said that the person placing the order would have to call and photos would have to be taken. I told them I did not want to embarrass the sender and I would give them his name, number and take photos myself. I asked for a replacement and they refused to help. Their customer service is pathetic. They should be embarrassed and they clearly have a bad reputation according to other reviewers who also claim to have had unpleasant dealings with customer service. How short sided can this company be? Do not use them.

My preferred place for something sweet. Cake is the way to go. Always great cakes here. Caramel, peanut butter, hummingbird are my favorite but I can eat em all. The cookies are good also. Some days they have deals. Small shop small parking spaces. Don’t need much just good product. In and out in a couple minutes. Highly recommend.Parking: Small parking lot but always spots. Doesn’t take long to order

Absolutely the best place to buy an entire cake / dessert for the office or home. They make the best carrot cake I've ever had. I highly recommend any of their locations.

We ordered the gingerbread loaf and it was very much sub par for Piece of Cake. It was dry, crumbled web we tried to cut it and was basically inedible. We order from there all the time and not had one issue. I called today to advise them. They said I could bring back the gingerbread to them for a refund. I asked if I really had to drive to them to show them how bad it was and she said yes. No refund or even a credit. No offer to talk with a manager or any customer service. she said they are a retail store so I had to come in. Bye Bye Piece of Cake! Anyone have any recommendations for great cakes and better customer service?

Bought a whole chocolate cake from the Buckhead location and it was SO uncomfortably dry. It was crumbling everywhere, and not the moist crumbs you can pick up with your fork. The icing was good but the cake was a fail. Also had a slice of red velvet and cupcakes, and the cake was okay. Not the Piece of Cake I remember.

I bought the Red velvet cake slice and the key lime cake slice, both cakes were dry as heck? the icing was the only thing that was good. I threw both slices in the trash where they belong!

It's not the same place it used to be. The cake is dry and stale. I miss the sweet neighborhood cake store where the cakes were to die for and the people were friendly and nice. Sadly that seems to be gone.

I have to say that this company has the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. I had my daughters Sweet 16. We came in and purchased soo many of the slices for testing and then ordered 4 cakes for the Birthday party. I spoke to the employee at the Duluth location about the event and how excited we were to purchase the birthday cakes for the party. Told her the event was for that weekend. First of all, I have to highlight that the stores do not have a direct number. There is no way to speak directly with someone at the physical store. One must contact the call center and then they relay the message or "note the account". The day of the event I called to inform that my friend would be picking up the cakes and gave his full name. To our misfortune, there was a bad car accident driving to the store. Again, the call center was called and informed. As life so has it, life presents situations out of our control. My friend got to the store minutes after it had closed. I understand that this is life, my argument against the customer service side is. How do you physically have 4 cakes in your possession in your store and you don't even extend the customer a courtesy call to inform them, "hello, we have your order here for pickup today and we are about to close in an hour or 30 minutes, just wanted to give you a friendly reminder." How do you as a customer service provider, not even look at the account to see if any notes are posted? Knowing that the customer can not contact the physical store. How does customer service note the account, yet nothing is done on the other end? Being in the cake business, you know that cakes are mostly purchased for special events for celebrations. How does an employee not even have the curiosity to stand and ask a simple question, there are FOUR PAID cakes here, not just one, this must be for something special. Something is off, let me just give a courtesy call. At the most, a call takes less than a minute. And options could have been made, even for Uber delivery or even at the worst case scenario, left the order outside w a note for the pick-up. My complaint is that NOTHING was done by the business to simply find out what was happening. Even after the calls were made to the call center to inform of what was happening. No follow ups, NOTHING!! ok After worths, after all these points were brought up. About how the calls had been made for the pick ups, about not being able to speak directly to the store, but to a call center, where apparently the communication between the call center and the store was not effective, their only response from the call center was, "I understand, but the cakes were made". At no time was there any accountability taken by the business, noting that life does happen and that at the end of the day, the business did not offer any solution to a real problem. They showed no empathy and made it clear that they didn't give a fuck about what had just happened. How can you be in a business that creates Cake to celebrate life and events yet, you have no respect for your customers. They simply said, cakes are here, pick them up if you want.
