Unaware of no hat policy until the maitre de literally pushed the sign in my face, not a great start. We missed the nightly entertainment which to me was probably best ($10 per person on the bill if someone is playing). My wife ordered red rice and beans as something she wanted to try, 15 minutes later they said it would be an hour wait for it. Uh, strike two, we didn't hit three. The meal was good and the evening salvaged, it was pleasant, maybe I expect too much to be fair. Just a couple things rubbed me a bit.
I loved the atmosphere. The music was on point. Food was great. My only concern was that I wore a hat and was told I couldn't wear one. Now I'm sitting on a hat in my hand all night. It doesn't say anywhere that you can't wear one. Please make this known so the hat wearers have options

We met friends for dinner on Saturday night. We had reservations for 9, but when we arrived we still had to wait about 20 minutes. It seemed like the restaurant had overbooked for that time slot. There were other patrons who had been waiting. When we were finally seated, the dining room area was not very full, so it was a little puzzling why there was such a long wait. The food was fine. I ordered the peach glazed salmon with brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. The salmon was good, generous portion. The brussel sprouts were also good, they were not greasy or overcooked. We also ordered the fried chicken dinner. I was a little disappointed with the taste of the chicken. It seems like the flavor profile was different than in the past. The coating used to have a subtle sweetness to it. This recent version taste like regular fried chicken. It wasn't impressive. The band entertainment was good and engaging. They sounded good performing the songs, a mixture of oldies and contemporary songs. Overall it was a nice evening. Its easy to see why this is a staple for the city. I would recommend visitors to go here for dinner and live entertainment.

They have large party limits and they charge a live music fee! Our server did well with our large party. I ordered a drink and it was delicious and strong! Worth the price! I ordered ox tails and they were so delicious and super tender! I thoroughly enjoy my food. Some in my party didn’t enjoy as much! My friend ordered fish and grits. The fish was supposed to catfish but wasn’t. She still enjoyed it! The bbq pull pork was a tiny portion…don’t order if you’re hungry! Another friend had short ribs and enjoyed it. The peach cobbler had too much nutmeg/all spice for me but it had a nice balance of peaches and crust! I’ve been before many years ago and it’s nice to know it’s still doing well. I would come back! Love the music as well!

The live band was amazing as always, however, everything else has gone downhill. We made a reservation for 9pm but when we arrived there were no tables available. The hostess tried her best to get a few people who were past their time limit on their table to leave but it was a struggle. We eventually found seats at the bar. I ordered fried chicken and macaroni. The Chicken was good but the quality of the macaroni was not good. The flavor wasn't vivid and I could hardly taste the gouda. It will be a while b4 I give it another try.

This is a cute place. I wanted to like it so bad. Live band was nice. Ambiance was lovely. I came to Atlanta for the fantasia concert from up north and decided to eat here for dinner. Reservation was 6:30. We got half of our order at 7:45. Appetizers never came out. Never got my drink order which she placed at 6:45. Food was not hot which was disappointing since we waited so long. Spoke to someone who said appetizer was coming AFTER food and I said I didn’t want it and he said they would bring anyway for no change. It never came 😂 Sorry Georgia, we won’t be back.

N Da Groove was amazing! We were in elite company with Ms. Sherri Shepard! Everything was top tier especially the food! Our server was attentive and extremely helpful. We will be back!
I wanted to like Sweet Georgia Juke Joint, but the experience was just not it. The food was honestly terrible — definitely not worth the hype. We had a large group, and while I get that seating big parties can be tricky, the wait and disorganization made everything feel chaotic and frustrating.
To be fair, the host did his best to accommodate us, and the manager was patient and professional the entire time — I truly appreciate their efforts. But despite that, the overall experience still fell short.
I ordered the catfish and grits, salmon patties, and a Caesar salad — and honestly, I didn’t like any of it. I didn’t complain or send anything back; I just paid my bill and left it at that. But later, when I got home, someone from our group called and told me to check my bank account — and sure enough, I’d been charged an extra $7.50 after I had already paid.
I came in hoping to support a Black-owned business and enjoy a good meal, but I left disappointed and feeling taken advantage of. I truly hope they get it together, because right now it’s not a place I’d recommend.

The live band did all they could so no discredit to them. The wait was terrible, but the waiter was nice, for what it’s worth. The worst part, well second worst part was the food. I gave it maybe four bites. Definitely not worth the wait or the money. Friends who were there with me called saying to check my card because they were charged an extra $7.00 from their card. Why did they take $7.56 from mine? These charges were made after we left the restaurant. That’s the worst part! Look, just don’t go.

We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Our hostess was attentive, kind and polite. Extra entertainment charge was explained prior to seating. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was crowded and the music was good so it was cool. Entertainment for the night was wonderful and they engaged with everyone dining. I rate a 9/10.
Best live music, amazing staff, and killer food

I visited this establishment twice a few months ago and last evening. On both occasions the bands and atmosphere were great. But, the service on both occasions was not acceptable. They tell you there a 2hour sitting time limit per table. We had a party of 4 and the first hour we had only our received water. It took an additional twenty mins for entrees and still waited for drinks. On both occasions the waiters were polite but the overall service is not good. First visit, the bisque was not good it had bisque but definitely lacked the seafood. First visit it was a party of 6 and l dont think anyone was satisfied with their food. Last evening the food seemed to be prepared better, ldk maybe a different cook. But, the prices does coordinate with serving size. I would not recommend this spot for food or drinks. But, if you want to pay the ten dollar fee for the band. Visit this establishment if for music and laid back atmosphere. Its more of a grown folks vive. Idk, maybe the owner needs better management. Because the service and food needs much improvement.

Sweet Georgia’s has really gone downhill. The live entertainment was the only highlight of the night — everything else was a disappointment. Despite having a reservation, we waited 20 minutes to be seated, and another 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged our table or offered drinks.
We watched at least eight tables around us get up and leave because of the same poor service. The waitstaff was completely inattentive and would disappear from sight or congregate amongst themselves ignoring their customers. The cooks were outside on smoke breaks or standing around watching the band. When the food finally came, it was hot but we had no silverware, and food from another plate spilled onto my meal.
It’s clear the staff lacks training and leadership. The service was chaotic, inattentive, and unprofessional. This used to be a great spot, but it’s now run by an inexperienced team delivering low-quality service. Definitely not the Sweet Georgia’s experience it once was and I will not be back.
