The Original J.R. Crickets in Midtown Atlanta

On July 2, 2026, My sister and I were in Atlanta and had lunch At the original JR crickets in Midtown Atlanta. Our server, Bri, Was just wonderful! She has a Great personality. Her service was just excellent! We enjoyed it so much. The food was Very delicious. Thank you so much for your pleasant service, Bri!

Food is give and take. Asked for crispy boy they were CRISPY! Drain the grease from the fries and chicken. Service was GREAT!

Wish it allowed 0 stars! We went to this establishment on 7/3. We were asked to Prepay while dining in. No problem, paid the $106. Tipped $30. They Didn't give an original receipt said they would bring it to the table. Waited on our food for over an hour. The cook stormed out while we were waiting. Our wing order was wrong. Steak and cheese philly was overly salty and cold. Ribs were burnt and tough. Onion rings were terrible. All the waitress said was “we got alot going on right now.” We asked for the Manager he comes out mad once we asked him would he be satisfied paying for food like this? he completely goes off saying get them out of here. He didn’t offer to fix the meal, remake the meal, or even refund for what was not edible. I would not recommend this location to anyone!

I drove past this place for years and finally decided to try it out. The food is not good. The salad has old lettuce and pretty skimpy for $18. The wings are super salty and overcooked. There's an armed security guard on duty right at the front door. I guess that's good but hood. They close at 3am, that's the only plus.

I went here for my birthday and I loved the food, so i decided to comeback last night around 11pm and it wasnt the best experience. I was a bit confused because I never dined it before only take out. I wanted to sit down and eat with my boyfriend so i waited in the order line and when it was my turn in line I asked the woman we wanted to sitdown and eat and she said we can sit outside and est our food so i went abd placed my order & waited for her to call my name to grab my order. We sat outside and ate our food and was outside for about an hour just talking and some woman with blonde braids had came up to us yelling at us saying we cant eat togo here but i told her i apologize and the cashier said we could outside and then she accused us of trying to steal her tips. I was completely because there was a black couple and 2 asian men eating outside togo. Im not sure if its because we were white. We didnt want any problems because we are not from Atlanta so we packed our stuff up so we could leave and while we grabbing our stuff about to leave she called security on us. The security guard was nice and told us she was known for being rude and mean and he said we could take our time packing our stuff up. I was happy atleast he was nice to us and polite. I wont be back because I didn’t know it can get ghetto at night like that because I came in the daytime for my birthday. The food is really good though.

Horrible service. Since I ordered at the to go window the lady said I couldn't even eat my food at the restaurant. They didn't have any rules posted. I just thought that was really messed up. Bought my food and because I ordered at the wrong window they wanted me to leave... do better!

We drove 30 miles to get to this establishment on a Friday night. We came in we seated ourselves. We waited 30 minutes for a server to even come take our order. The other server on duty Frankie was phenomenal. She came over. She took the order a person that was actually waiting on our section was flirting with the security guard and not taking any orders and disappear. I will never ever come to this establishment again. Although Frankie was working all of the tables, the food could not come out fast enough for her. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. I normally do not send my food bag, but I had to request another order two times because my cool food was extremely cold. I ordered the tenders and fries. Whoever owns this restaurant and even a manager for the Restaurant should be ashamed to let this establishment be run like this.

If there’s a way to give negative stars, I would go lower than the minimum possible. I do not understand how tiktok influencers rate this place as Atlanta’s finest, are your taste buds messed up? The service staff are rude and makes you feel like they are doing us a favor by showing up for work. The wings are absolutely abysmal, sauces are just bad. I do not understand how this place is still in business and shame on the so called food influencers for keeping this place relevant.

I used to love this place when I was younger. I wanted to revisit after so many years. I couldn’t even order for tbh. Sat down in the restaurant and decided I wanted to eat outside instead. The light skinned server with blonde braids said “I’m not coming outside to take your order, you have to come back inside and place it in.” And she continued to ramble about how it’s too hot for her to come and take our order, continued with more mumbling under her breath. Not the experience I was hoping for me and my date. We didn’t place an order, and instead we immediately left. No need for the extra attitude. Especially when we were more than respectful. Zero starts if that were an option

Remind you it so bad I’m still sitting here and wanna make sure I don’t miss anything. Walked in sat the bar, was greeted by the bar tender she was taking a young ladies order next to me and said she’ll be back. She came back several times only just to keep looking at us and walk by. 15 minutes has went by and we still haven’t order the lady next to me got her food and alcohol beverage and was out. The bartender finally came back and we ordered we could only order wings and tenders but seen other people getting the seafood options. We let it go and ordered wings, fried mushrooms, chicken tenders, celery and two sodas. We got the food 20 minutes later only to see people just walking up ordering and getting their food. After all that we get the food only for the mushrooms not to be cooked all the way and the chicken tenders weren’t either. The wings were ok the soda was flat. It’s a horrible time and I was hungry thought it was like back in the day day. I will never come back

June 4, 2026 The windowsills had dust in them and old bugs, and the ketchup was old and sour. I told the waitress she laughed about it after I put it on my fries and never brought me any ketchup back. customer service is a zero food is a 0 Atmosphere is a zero. They do not hold the original name for JR crickets they need a whole new staff

This place is ridiculous I won't recommend it to anyone, service is terrible only 1 cashier to take order for the bar and carry out 1 for Dine In, I waited about 15 minutes before my order was taken I had to ask is anyone going to take my order, I should have left then, after my order was taken by the Dine In person I'm waiting and waiting then people was coming in after me was placing and getting their order and leaving, so I asked front cashier about my order and said people that came in after me getting their order and leaving ans still waiting she said I don't know I didn't take your order, I was like what let me speak to the manager she said there is no manager, remind you I had waited 15 minutes before my order was taking I did speak with the owner and was telling him he need to hire some help he says to me no I don't they need to do there job and walks out the door..smh, after he leaves I waited another 15 to 20 minutes, I tells them I want my money back they said I couldn't get my money back long story short I didn't get my money back and I waited almost a hour.. very poor service and overall terrible, won't be going back!!!

Lady at the front said we could seat ourselves and server would be with us, we waited 5 minutes and no one ever came so we went back and made sure they knew we were waiting. We waited another few minutes and nobody ever came so we left. Terrible service for a mandatory 18% tip that they add for dine it.
