Although the restaurant was not busy the service was very poor. We waited almost an hour to have our dinner order taken. When the food came out almost 40 minutes after that it was not hot and one of our entrees came out almost ten minutes after the other five entrees. I've had many great experiences at the College Park location in the past and I love the food here but I'm not sure I will be back at this point.

This was my second time at Virgil's and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing and the music was great! The DJ on Sundays from 1-6pm is amazing! The mix of music was the perfect ending to my weekend! I had the Afta Church Plate and it was amazing! My mom had the Smotha'd Poke Chops with fried cabbage! She raved about it and definitely said she'd love to return and that's all I needed to hear! The service was great from Zachary! He was personable and efficient!

Virgil's was an overall 10 out of 10. The seating, fast delivery of hot food and attentive staff all were Chef's Kiss! I recommend this location.

Great experience for the first time.. As a seafood lover the shrimp and grits was great and a delight!! Our waiter was Ridge was very friendly, polite and professional. He also kept coming back to check to see if everything was okay!!! I would recommend this to couples for a date as well!!!

It was superb! The service was excellent. The DJ is amazing! She kept the atmosphere lively and nostalgic with her expert skills. She played a variety from old school(sing-alongs) to new school that made you want to get up and dance, which many patrons did.

I reserved a table for a large party on a Friday afternoon. The server was so friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. We had a fantastic time, and I'd definitely consider Virgil's for a celebration again.

Food was delicious but was a little loud for my taste on a Sunday afternoon. More of a party atmosphere with live DJ and upbeat music

Good food, good vibes, good drinks. Upstairs was the place to be!!! I was able to avoid the hookah smoke so it's a 10 for me!!!

I ordered the brown stew chicken, cornbread and cabbage. The chicken was outstanding! The cabbage was too crunchy for me, but the cornbread made up for it. I would definitely go back. Also, the people were super friendly.

8/10/25 We were a group of 9 and it was after 9pm on a Sunday night. We were seated quickly and the waitress came immediately when we were seated to take our drink order. We the ambiance is a bar atmosphere that openly allow smoking and drinking therefore I would not recommend for parties with children. The music was very loud and somewhat vulgar. In our party we did have kids and only stayed because we were visiting from Chicago and didn’t have any other meal options for this time of night. Lets get to the food!!! We ordered the 2 after church plates, 1 smothered chicken dinner, 1?flounder and grits, 2 Jamin wings, corn muffins, the pasta with shrimp a side of macaroni and 3 extra wings. For this hour of the night and so close to closing (11pm)the food was surprisingly hot! The food presentation was nicely done. The fried chicken was nice and crispy, though not enough sauce for anyone in the party and it lacked flavorful seasoning. The collared greens were too salty for everyone and the sweet potato were not sweet to anyone although they had brown sugar sprinkled on top. The macaroni and cheese was dry and tasteless. The flounder and grits were delicious. The flounder was a nice portion size, light and crispy. The smother chicken was well seasoned and tender and the gravy with jasmine rice was good as well. The cabbage was a little tough and greasy but still enjoyable. The corn muffins were sweet and delicious and I loved the drizzle on them. The pasta and shrimp was hands down delicious! The shrimp were huge and the creaminess was perfect. The sweet tea was very sweet, the first glass of coke was weak and flat however the refills were on point. The bill for 7 entrees a side of mac and cheese, three wings and corn muffins came out to $277 which included an automatic 20% gratuity. I have to say that although I wasn’t over the moon in love with all of the food I would revisit this establishment at an earlier time and because the staff was good. I also would recommend this place because I think the good out weighs the bad.

First time at the restaurant. The music was so loud, we couldn't hear each other at the table.
It was a party of 6 our server asked us was we paying separately we said Yes.
She added a 20% tip on each check. Without informing us. I questioned the tip. She said if the party is 6 or more it's an automatic 20% tip charge.

When I sign my individual check, the tip information prompted up.
She added a 20% tip on each person paying separately. This is definitely 💯
unacceptable. I will make sure this won't happen again. I was truly disappointed about this service.
People should be informed before you charge their ticket.

First time at Virgil's Gullah Kitchen & Bar. The West Midtown location truly impressed our group of 5 ladies. We came here as an after party from having an elegant dinner out and we just wanted a chill spot to laugh, have drinks and dance. Virgil's truly delivered and Miko our server made it happen. Hats off to Miko, the staff at Virgil's the atmosphere and the down to earth feeling of 'home'. Can't say enough about this place. Truly pleased with our experience.
