This was my first time here, and to be honest with you, I love the place. It's been there since 1879, and the inside is all original. It is a work in progress but I love the way it looks right now to be honest with you. The people were very courteous. The menu, it's very generous. And there are a ton of options on there for drinks. The food is delicious. The potato salad was piping hot and briny with smoky bacon and the reuben was perfect. The kraut wasn't soggy and the pastrami was sliced just right.

The tables and chairs in the dining area were a mishmash of different sizes and heights. The seating area was clean but disorganized. The antique general store countertops were cluttered, shelves around the dining room were sparse. The back part of the restaurant where the old deli cases...

This place was so cute and unique. Finally tried it for the first time yesterday and the sweet old man who took our order told us all the history about the building, owners, and Hilderbrandt's. It was fascinating. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great.
