The WSC 573 was...yes WAS a classic. Ironically in the Augusta GA region of the Deep South finding true "southern" food is hard to find. From the homemade biscuits to the wonderful specials, the WSC 573 owners/cooks prepared every thing with love on the open grill just behind the counter. Every trip to Augusta turned into a trip to the WSC 573. Need I say more....fried okra, green tomatoes, and even vegetarian gravy....mmmmmm.

We had to thank the chef because it was that GOOD! We came for breakfast and I wish we could come everyday for breakfast. Great place to bring a small group from out of town for some chicken and biscuits!

I discovered this place when I ran past it during the Augusta half marathon! I knew the next time my husband asked where I wanted to go for breakfast this would be it. First things first, it was nice to be away from the three ring circus that Washington Road is on a Sunday. It was easy to find a place to park right on the street outside of the restaurant, and we were able to walk right in and be seated. Service was a little slow, but they were very friendly. My husband ordered the country fried steak, and I had Fran's cozy chicken. It took a long time for our food to come. At least 35-40 minutes. Then, mine came out 5-7 minutes before my husband's. I got started, and tasted each part of the dish separately before diving into it as a whole. Pretty sure each part was homemade. Biscuit was flavorful and fluffy, gravy was right and the chicken was battered and seasoned beautifully. My husband said when his country fried steak arrived that it was among the best he's ever eaten. We want to go back and try more! Don't think this will be a quick stop. We were there over an hour. Also, they are open until 3pm.

This was our first time and it was amazing! We had the breakfast and it was out in a timely matter. If your looking for a country breakfast this is the place! Very affordable also!

Great menu, vegan-friendly, and nice staff members. Cute little porch to sit outside and TVs to watch games if you like. I'd recommend you give them a try. They also deliver via Waitr. I had the vegan sloppy joe: a little vinegar heavy but mixed it with the sauce that came with the fried pickles and it made it better. Hubby had the fried chicken and pancake hush puppies: chicken was good.

Interior is pretty tiny. We came around 1pm on a Saturday. Booths were mostly full so my fiancé and I sat at the "bar." I believe there's only one table that will fit 5-6 people. Otherwise, most only fit 2-4 people. The fried chicken was basically chicken tenders is what I expected. They were seasoned well and crispy. The pancake hushpuppies fell apart easily but tasted pretty yummy- like funnel cake with cinnamon. Unfortunately, this was my first meal so it was a bit too heavy. My fiancé enjoyed his sandwich but the fries were WAYYY too salty that we left most of them. I ordered a side of breakfast potatoes and those were good. They were sautéed with onions. Overall, not bad, should've got eggs instead so the breakfast would be lighter. Around us, many people left their fries as well but cannot be sure if they also thought they were too salty. Otherwise, service was good. Everyone was very sweet and patient. Not too much attention with water refill, which was needed cause of all the salt.

This is a cozy restaurant perfect for dining alone or with a friend, but with that being said, don't plan to eat here with a large group. The booths are personal and quaint, which are perfect for casual conversations or grabbing a bite while reading the paper or a book. Even though I showed up with 5 children, we were still treated to amazing service and definitely enjoyed our food!!

My first time coming in 2020 and it was with my best friend on a friend date. We are both huge fans of WSC so we knew it was a guaranteed good time AND good food. It was a little busy which was expected for a late Saturday morning. We sat on the stools for awhile and placed our orders while we waited for a table to clear. I went with Fran's cozy biscuits which I hadn't tried before. My friend went with Chicken and Pancake hushpuppies. If I had been hungrier, I definitely would've gotten an order of their fried green tomatoes; my all-time menu favorite; as an appetizer. When our food arrived and I took my first few bites, I knew I made a good choice. My chicken was seasoned perfectly and it paired so well with the creaminess of the sausage gravy, and the fluffiness of those buttermilk biscuits. Every bite was an explosion of flavor and I was left completely satisfied with a full belly. I didn't eat here in 2019 as often as I desired, but I will definitely find myself here more this year!

Open for approximately 9 months now. Happy employees. Lots of food for the money. Had the pancake breakfast. $8.99. Came with a giant pancake, 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and potatoes. The bacon was perfect. The eggs were seasoned. The only reasons I didn't give a 5 star review are the pancake was a lwet in the middle because it was enormous and the potatoes were finished in a deep fryer because I asked for them to be crispy. UPDATE: Don't know what happened since the last time I visited Augusta and this restaurant, but it was terrible. Doors opened 10 minutes late. Waitress asked what I wanted as I was sitting down. Table had no menu or sweetener like other tables. Syrup stuck to basket it was placed in. No spoon or stirrer for coffee. Every refill had to be asked for. Food awful. Had breakfast burrito. It was small, cold, relatively empty, and had a stale tortilla. Ordered a single pancake. It was super thin with hard edges. Not tasty. Coffee cheap and burnt tasting. But at least it was expensive and they added an unadvertised service charge for it using an AMEX.

I have been there four or five times now, and each time the food has been wonderful. Went there again today and had "The Conductor" - was an awesome and interesting dish with ingredients that mesh quite well. The cafe has a nice atmosphere and vibe about it. Our waitress was very pleasant - an overall excellent experience!

Great little breakfast and lunch spot. Its family owned and everyone I encountered was very friendly.
