We had to thank the chef because it was that GOOD! We came for breakfast and I wish we could come everyday for breakfast. Great place to bring a small group from out of town for some chicken and biscuits!
I discovered this place when I ran past it during the Augusta half marathon! I knew the next time my husband asked where I wanted to go for breakfast this would be it. First things first, it was nice to be away from the three ring circus that Washington Road is on a Sunday. It was easy to find a place to park right on the street outside of the restaurant, and we were able to walk right in and be seated. Service was a little slow, but they were very friendly. The WSC 573 was...yes WAS a classic. Ironically in the Augusta GA region of the Deep South finding true "southern" food is hard to find. From the homemade biscuits to the wonderful specials, the WSC 573 owners/cooks prepared every thing with love on the open grill just behind the counter. Every trip to Augusta turned into a trip to the WSC 573. Need I say more....fried okra, green tomatoes, and even vegetarian gravy....mmmmmm.
